Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will stop at nothing to defund Obamacare, saying Thursday he would even go so far as to filibuster the continuing resolution to stymie President Barack Obamas healthcare law.
Cruz joined Republican lawmakers from both chambers of Congress at a press conference discussing a continuing resolution to halt funding for the Affordable Care Act. When asked if he would filibuster the continuing resolution, the Tea Party darling said he would use whatever means necessary to defund Obamacare.
I will do everything necessary and anything possible to defund Obamacare, Cruz said. Yes, and anything else. Any procedural means necessary. Listen, this is the most important fight of the country and its easy to focus on the political back and forth.
As soon as the House passes this into law its going to be in Harry Reids court.

God bless this man and all those joining him in this fight. He is willing to do all he can, everything to shut this down...and is being absolutely true to the commitments he made while running for office.
America at the crossroads of history

Ted, please wear a catheter like Wendy so you can hold on for longer than 13 hours.
The person who wants a gov’t shutdown more than anyone else is 0bama. He doesn’t care what happens, probably hopes the more damage the better. Although most of the public is against 0bamacare, for most it is an abstraction. When things that are not abstractions start to negatively affect Americans start happening - there will be 0bama screaming about who is to blame.
The real opportunity to repeal 0bamacare is after Americans have felt its full brunt.
Cruz has more cojones in his finger cuticles than the bonehead- thing has in his nether region.
Even if the democrats in the senate feel enough pressure to fold, obama won’t.
The republicans should issue a statement to all government employees that the government has been funded and they will all be paid. obama and Geitner don’t personally write the checks even though most of his base thinks he does.
why would the teaparty star ted cruz filibuster to defend obamacare... doesn’t he know 70% of americans want it to go away.
defending obamacare will bring the wrath of the electorate down hard on him... what? defund? oh, nevermind.

Ted, don’t let the Boehner floozies untrack your drive! We’re 100% behind you.
As RR put it, trust but verify. I think a new statesman has stepped forward. Finally, the real Maverick emerges.
“Depends” undergarments would be a better solution.
I’m sure this has been posted all over in the past, but Sen. Cruz was on Fox last night asking for support for his website.

He has 1.4M signatures and is looking to double it.
With proper preparation, rest and determination he could go a long time. He’s young and fit. He would have people across this nation cheering for him by the end.

Boehner blasts Obama for bargaining with Putin, not Congress ahead of budget vote
Published September 19, 2013

House Speaker John Boehner ripped President Obama for negotiating with Vladimir Putin while giving congressional Republicans the cold shoulder, as he and his rank-and-file prepared for a potentially bruising showdown over ObamaCare.
The Capitol Hill air was filled with recriminations on Thursday, as Republican and Democratic leaders accused each other of flirting with a government shutdown. Boehner has teed up a vote for Friday on a bill that would condition a stopgap spending measure on support for de-funding ObamaCare.
President Obama and his allies say this is a formula for a government shutdown, since Democrats will not support the ObamaCare measure; and without a stopgap spending bill, funding for the government runs out by Oct. 1.
Boehner kept a stiff upper lip in advance of the vote. Speaking to reporters, he chided Obama for recently negotiating with the president of Russia over Syria’s chemical weapons while allegedly employing less diplomacy with Congress.
“While the president is happy to negotiate with Vladimir Putin he won’t engage with the Congress on a plan that deals with the deficits that threaten our economy,” Boehner said.
The White House escalated the fight on Thursday, formally threatening to veto the bill.

i’m wondering when i’ll get arrested... since i won’t participate in their newest ponzi scheme to collapse the system
i just won’t help someone destroy my country
yea, i know... i must be crazy...
Lets hope this fight sprawls on out through December so we can torch amnesty also

If filibuster is available on this matter, Cruz had better not be alone in the well. This will be the real test of which Republican Senators are willing to take the issue to the mat as a tag team.

How exactly will fillibustering defund Obamacare?
Maybe. It depends..............

WASHINGTON Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) vowed to do everything necessary and anything possible to ensure passage of legislation that would strip the new healthcare law of some of its funding, assuring House Republicans of his full support for a strategy that could risk a government shutdown.
At a news conference Thursday, Cruz locked arms with House Republicans who have championed the defund Obamacare strategy, one day after conservative lawmakers bristled at a statement Cruz issued that acknowledged Republicans had little chance of succeeding in the Senate.
