I sure hope they can think of some way to solve this problem.

If these types of shootings continue to occur, the creators of "Gun Free Zones" will lose ALL credibility...

What people are not getting about this shooting and Fort Hood is that we have told the world’s leaders and terrorist exactly where to attack our military and their operations so they can not defend themselves.

“I guess he’ll just have to do this on his own since no one in congress will listen.” “O knows what’s best for his subjects so whatever he says goes.” He says “jump”, I say “how high”. “That’s how real leaders lead.”

Most of the above has been said by my liberal in laws. Except for “subjects”. This is why I refuse to go to family reunions.

Executive Order #1: No one is allowed to shoot up Federal facilities.

There! That ought to stop them.

Yes, it’s common sense to stop coddling protected classes and get rid of affirmative action. Fort Hood and the Navy Yard would never have happened before PC rooted into our culture.

I think D.C. should enact much stricter gun laws. I think this would deter Navy personnel who have clearance after 2 shooting felonies from shooting up a secure military area.

More alarming than the fact that they are issuing executive orders is that they aren’t saying what those executive actions are. Go ahead Jay, tell us all what measures you’re going to take that would have changed anything. good luck with that.

If Rand Paul says he’s running for President and will permanently sign a number of laws (ie: outlawing Executive Orders, requiring Congressional Approval before ANY military strikes) I’m voting for him.

Needs to be clarified -

Is he contemplating (as need more public outrage/outcry) or is he implementing?

First: “The president supports, as do an overwhelming majority of Americans, common-sense measures to reduce gun violence,” Carney said.

Then: Matt Bennett, senior vice president at Democratic-leaning Third Way, says the Colorado senators’ mistake was banning high-capacity magazines — even though Third Way has supported such a ban.

“We do as good public policy, but we don’t support Congress trying to do it at this point because it’s bad politics,” Bennett said. “Voters don’t like it.”

The anti-gun media cannot produce a 638 word 'story' without including major 'factual' contradictions.

It appears to me the problem lies in background investigations (BCI), political correctness, and the easy issue of security clearances.

Aaron Alexis had no business holding a “secret” security clearance and a badge to enter government installations. How did it happen?? Certainly the regulations are in place to do the job properly and to enforce the program. That is unless an Obama Executive Order superseded them. Identify the investigator who did his original and subsequent BCI’s, who reviewed them and ordered the clearance be given? Go to the roots and work up.

Government is just too big.

Never let a tragedy go to waste.

D.C. has strict gun control laws. The only effect that D.C.’s gun control laws had was to ensure a large supply of unarmed victims.

Clearly we need some more gun control laws before we run out of unarmed victims.

Whatever Obama says is a distraction.

As I understand things the real problem needing investigation is why this crazy person was able to get a job at the Navy Yard.

He had an arrest record from 2004 in Seattle and 2010 in Ft Worth.

Why did the Navy give him a clearance?
