Top climate scientists admit global warming forecasts were wrong

Top climate scientists have admitted that their global warming forecasts are wrong and world is not heating at the rate they claimed it was in a key report.

By Hayley Dixon

3:45PM BST 15 Sep 2013

A leaked draft of a report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is understood to concede that the computer predictions for global warming and the effects of carbon emissions have been proved to be inaccurate.

The report, to be published later this month, is a six year assessment which is seen as the gospel of climate science and is cited to justify fuel taxes and subsidies for renewable energy.

The “summary for policymakers” of the report, seen by the Mail on Sunday, states that the world is warming at a rate of 0.12C per decade since 1951, compared to a prediction of 1.3C per decade in their last assessment published in 2007.

Other admission in the latest document include that forecast computers may not have taken enough notice of natural variability in the climate, therefore exaggerating the effect of increased carbon emissions on world temperatures.

The governments which fund the IPCC have tabled 1,800 questions in relation to the report.

One of the central issues is believed to be why the IPCC failed to account for the “pause” in global warming, which they admit that they did not predict in their computer models. Since 1997, world average temperatures have not shown any statistically significant increase.

Will they give back their research/grant money then? Why reward failure?

So, I’m smarter than a climate scientist? I’ll take it.

The Telegaph. Figures. I'm glad UK citizens are being made aware of the hoax that has been perpetrated on U.S. citizens.

“One of the central issues is believed to be why the IPCC failed to account for the “pause” in global warming,”

No “pause” just BS to begin with.

This will be the new meme now. “It’s happening we just don’t know when”. Too much money involved.

I clicked to the original article and it differs from your post.

it says.

“warming at a rate of 0.12C per decade since 1951, compared to a prediction of 0.13C per decade in their last assessment published in 2007. “

Is it to much expecting them to do Hari Kari?

I thinbk many intellectuals are on the down low when it comes to their views on global warming. I have had numerous intellectual meetings and dinner parties with academics in the STEM field - expressing skepticism of global warming gets you looked at like you are a product of inbreeding who ordered raw roadkill for dinner. Thankfully, some intellectuals are working to change this:

Ok—so now the story is 0.12/decade. What about the last 17 years over which there has been no statistically significant warming at all?

Hari Kari is much too honorable a death.

Rat poison, maybe, would be more appropriate.

But that is to presume they still have some residual sense of shame over perpetrating this hoax.

a rate of 0.12C per decade since 1951, compared to a prediction of 1.3C per decade

What is the deal here?

That isn't what the article says.

Did they change it after publishing (without an update date), or did you change it ?

So David Axlerod’s 12/19/11 derisive comment toward Newt Gingrich actually does have credence. Bos campaign mgr said “ The higher a monkey climbs a pole the more you can see his butt”

..another top news story the U.S. media will ignore. After all, BILLIONS of U.S. tax dollars are being WASTED on ‘green’ projects because of these scientists’ initial conclusions.

No, they (or their heirs) can keep that money. My feeling is that those that were overly egregious about the lies, collusion and fabrication, as in Professor Michael Mann from Penn, NASAs Dr. Hansen and that Professor Phil Jones from East Anglia University’s Climate Research Unit, should at a minimum be sentenced to life imprisonment with no parole, and at the maximum forfeit their miserable lying lives.

Besides which, I’d like to see the thermometer that measures the temperature on the entire earth at a precision of hundredths of a degree. Or is the temperature measured to thousandths and rounded to hundredths?

If you consider the temperature record of the earth over tens of thousands of years, you’ll see that we’ve been both much hotter and colder. And during the warmer periods, both flora and fauna thrived worldwide.

Any time a politician says the sky is falling, and the only solution is to go along with their utopian schemes, a swift punch to their nose is appropriate. Especially if their schemes involve granting them more money and power, and you pay higher taxes and reduce your standard of living.
