Actually, it IS a racial slur, and is as much an affront to Indians as naming a team the Nashville N***ers or San Francisco Spics would be to blacks or Hispanics.
Yet only in Washington, the alleged center of the PC universe, is this affront to Indians allowed to continue.
It’s the 21st century for god’s sake. Why is the 19th century derogatory term still being used as the name of an NFL franchise???
do you feel the same way about Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Oakland Raiders? Aren’t such names honoring criminals from the 18th century?
Ok if u say so then they should change the Name. I’d be complimented to have a team of strong skilled professional “warriors” named after me. (But of course if my team had a bad record .... And dropped the ball all the time, then they could call them the Congresscritters. ? .
