do you feel the same way about Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Oakland Raiders? Aren’t such names honoring criminals from the 18th century?

Get real! There’s nothing racial about a “pirate”, “raider”, or “buccaneer.”

“Redskin” is a derogatory epithet used to describe American Indians in this country.

You do know the etymology of the word “ni**er”, don’t you?

It’s a derivation of the Latin word “niger”, which means “black” or “dark.”

Let me know when the NFL decides to allow one of its franchises to be called the Nashville Nigers, then you can tell me it’s OK to call the Washington team “Redskins.”

I’m about as un-PC as they come, but this isn’t about political correctness: it’s about consistency and simple human decency!
