why do news organizations never call them illegal aliens or illegal immigrants anymore?

Calling them undocumented suggests that they simply lack documents, that they lost their ID or driver’s license, and need to get a replacement. It doesn’t really accurately describe their situation to call them undocumented.

California must be right about immigrants. After all they don’t have any unemployment and their budget is balanced , and they aren’t making any welfare or food stamp payments.

I suppose these Republican turds know hat they are talking about.

Yet ANOTHER Group bought by business to promote their cheap labor sources (Amnesty).

I'd rather pay $3 for an orange, than pay $.50 for it from some Illegal OR some Amnesty-receiving scum.

I'd save a bundle if we deported all the illegals, and all the Benefits they're given paid for by my Taxes.

I don't think any one here doubts that rich Democrats should pay high taxes to match their socialist world view. I am beginning to think Rich Repub’s should as well since they are recreating the same king of society by trying to amnesty. Why is it that when we lower their taxes establishment Republicans just become more feckless and more than a few of them actually become Dem's.

There is a path. It’s called applying and going to the back of the line. These are the GOP who like their cheap labor and cheap tarts.

No.

The GOP is entirely, 100% wrong right now.

What is needed is American businesses, and American workers.

Now.

So, who are the sixteen? The story does not list them all, and an internet search just finds additional publications of the reuters article.

16 Republican state senators and assembly members joined a national push to demand a path to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.

Only 11 million?

What about the other 20 million?

It is time for demcrats and republicans to merge.

Sort of like the AFL and CIO did in 1955 after they figured out they were both pushing the same product.

Same situation as the Dems and pubbies are in today.

Treason pushed by traitors.

This next massive amnesty will be the de facto merger of the USA with Mexico and the end of anything recognizable as “America”

‘REPUBLICANS CARE ABOUT YOU’

Oh my gosh I am about to throw up !! Another story points out.. Immigration both creates and saves jobs, the business groups contend. That is especially true for the beaten down manufacturing sector, which has eroded for decades as corporations exported millions of jobs to low-wage countries around the globe and as workers have been replaced by technology.

Immigrants contribute economically by earning and spending money, which benefits local businesses, and by generating tax revenue. The organizations also say immigrants provide companies with a pool of workers whose skills are in short supply in the broader U.S. population. That ready source of domestic labor means employers are less likely to ship jobs abroad.

“For every 1,000 immigrants who live in a county, 46 manufacturing jobs are created or preserved,” said Jeremy Robbins, director of the Partnership for a New American Economy, in an interview, adding that communities with higher rates of immigration retain more manufacturing jobs than areas with fewer immigrants

This one poster summed it all up very well..It is absolutely amazing to think that this is even being posed as a serious question, then again, this is CBS. Of course amnesty will not speed economic recovery, but will actually have the exact opposite effect. The destructive economic effects of amnesty on the other hand are numerous, aside from the aforementioned impact on wages and stealing—yes I said stealing—employment from real Americans, they will also tax our social welfare system and continue to burden our hospitals. The last thing we need is an enormous influx of uneducated, low-skilled labourers at a time when only 47% of Americans are actually employed full-time, which means the rest of the populace is either working part-time or unemployed. The greater majority of these jobs that were lost are never coming back, so the better question would be, ‘How does it make sense to grant amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens in a country that is in no need of any immigrants, let alone those that broke the law to get here in the first place?’ Then beyond the economic impact, there is the one that illegals have had in terms of drugs and murder, the collateral damage so to speak, that no one pushing for amnesty wants to talk about. The human cost of our country being overrun by illegal immigrants is despicable and an extreme disgrace to this country that not only creates an environment for it to occur, but does everything possible to perpetuate it and prevents all resistance of it. This fact is spelled out in great detail on immigrationshumancost.org/ and one can get a real sense of the results of our government turning a blind eye to this madness.

That’ll work out great for all those businesses, seeing how that California is getting ready to raise the minimum wage to $9/hr. Idiots.

I haven’t read the comments to this thread, yet, so want to state my comments without being influenced by them.

First, it’s really sickening to hear the pols and media constantly using the “11 million” figure! That was the number being used back in 2006-07 when they tried to pass an amnesty bill.

The number of illegals now in the US is probably between 20-30 million, because the Obama admin. has refused to secure the border and to deport multiple offenders or put them in prison for felonies.

The CA Senators and Reps, whether Dem or Republican, don’t give a damn about the economy, unemployment rate, etc.; but only about gaining continued fund-backing from business entities who are looking for cheap labor, so they can remain in their cushy positions in politics with guaranteed pensions paid for by taxpayers.

The above rant was about CA, but it also applies to many other States. .....Rant over.

Obama’s EO for Dreamers is unconstitutional. The constant whining about “tearing apart families” if the adult is deported is BS. Kids are supposed to go with their parents. If the kid was born in the US, then when reaching majority age that kid can choose to go to a US Consulate and make application to come to the US as a citizen.
