Obama made this about the people killed, not just about chemical weapons. He wants to go after Syria over the people that are dead, or else he would have done this months ago.
Now he either has to walk away despite his “red line” or still strike with no support.
This isn’t good for Obama.It weakens him because it makes it look like Obama never really looked at a peaceful solution. Obama doesn’t want this because the chem weapons is not really why he is wanting to attack.

FWIW - politics are the last of my concern and if something saves our soldiers I support it even if it came from Putin. Obama’s brand has been damaged overseas by his inept handling of the Middle East, but nothing will stick to him with the presstitutes here at home.
