You wrongly assume it is wrong. You also wrongly assume he is hiding his face in some kind of shame. He is hiding because he can be arrested.
He has every right to speak out against illegal activities of his commanders including his Commander in Chief.

He does not have the right to protest in uniform, he signed up for service.
