SOLDIERS SPEAK OUT ON SYRIA: 'We Are Not A World Police'
Business Insider ^ | 9/2/13 | Paul Szoldra

Posted on 09/02/2013 9:01:30 AM PDT by Nachum

With the President poised to strike in Syria and the Congress set to vote on the issue the week of Sep. 9, the debate about U.S. military intervention in the two-year-old civil war is already happening amongst the American public.

Some Americans have made their voices known to their representatives, while many others have said the U.S. should stay out of the conflict, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

In the poll, only 20% said the U.S. should take action, although that was up from 9% last week. Even if it's clear the Assad regime used chemical weapons on civilians, only 29% said the U.S. should intervene.

I don’t love “that law”. Maybe that law should be changed, but until then, personnel should follow the law.

>>Totally inappropriate. He shouldn’t be making political statements in uniform.

If we were still a nation of law, I’d agree. But, the US government has gone rogue. Cabinet members are violating their oaths of office. The President is out of control. Elections are rigged. The courts are corrupt. We are being bankrupted as the nation’s wealth is siphoned off to a select few.

When George Washington presented himself to the Continental Congress, he wore his military uniform—the one he wore in service to the King.

These men are patriots. They have a rare courage in this day of comfort and luxury. They don’t hide their faces out of cowardice. They hide their face because they represent hundreds of thousands of brothers-in-arms who feel the exact same way.

A POTUS does not leave men to die in a situation like Benghazi.......it was only a matter of time before this coward received blowback from the warriors.

A POTUS does not allow a warrior to hold his umbrella.

A POTUS does not send warriors into battle to fight WITH and FOR the enemy who murdered over 3000 countrymen on September 11, 2001.

Therefore, it only stands to reason that an American warrior can also draw red lines.

>>Question: Why do so many of these notes have the exact same text?

None of them have the exact same text. Are you claiming that this is “astroturfing” Nancy??

“Maybe that law should be changed, but until then, personnel should follow the law.”

All the way to his demise our his country’s demise? Really? That’s just symbolism over substance. Following the law for the sake of the law. That’s just plain stupidity. Not to mention, his CIC isn’t following the law, violates it daily, yet he should be held accountable for it just because he has no political influence?

As his employer I want to hear from him. He works for me as does the President. No company succeeds when the workers are told to just shut up and the owners never listens. I want to listen. Once any military orders to war are made then he can just shut up and do his job. He has a responsibility to inform his employers of important views or facts. Until then, I want to hear from him, law or no law of the UMCJ.

“When person enlists in the military he/she takes an oat to protect US/interests home and abroad. In the case of Syria no US interest involved. This is a time for our country to stop police everyone around the world. Europe and arab nations don’t do anything so why we have to endanger our military? High moral values? Building democracy in the ME? As of today there is only evidence that chemical weapons was used in Syria but no indication who used them. If UN have a problem, let them send their troops to Syrian meat grinder.”

I agree with all those points. We should not get involved in Syria at all. The Chief should not be making the point in his uniform though.

Shutting down the voice of the military is like a company owner finding that the middle managers have told the employees never to talk to the owners and firing them if they do.

Absolutely...Screw the criminals in D.C. They betray us as a matter of routine. Fortress America gets my vote..

They want another globalist compassionate war lasting decades while lining the pockets of the super wealthy insiders?

Let the wealthy arrogant corrupt in Congress, the Senate and White House send their sons and daughters.

Exactly. I trust an NCO much more than I trust a flag officer. Many of their signs say, “Wake up America”. That is the most important part of their statement.

Especially when we see how the military vote in the last election was systematically sabotaged. As a vet, I understand and support the idea that folks in uniform aren’t supposed to espouse political viewpoints, but then, I saw people in uniform being encouraged to march in Gay parades, which totally subverts the whole silently serving principle in my book. It is becoming increasingly clear as to the extent the enemy has infiltrated our government. The Saudis and Muslim Brotherhood are trying to call the shots here, and during these unthinkable times I’m willing to give these protesting folks in uniform a pass. It may be that behind the scenes the military is refusing to move forward with this attack on Syria. The military may have saved Egypt. Maybe they will save us too.

The American people need to be reassured that the trigger-pullers in our military are on our side and not Obamas. And Obama needs to know that too!

The rule of law is dead. The people voted an end to it on Nov. 6th 2012.

“Maybe that law should be changed, but until then, personnel should follow the law.”

What stinking law ya talking about? Wide open lawless violent borders as your government aids and abets millions flooding in illegally? Compassionate undeclared wars lasting 10 years, costing trillions in American treasure?

All this as your government illegally taps your telephones, your health records, monitors your email, seizes your phone records, and spy's on and performs surveillance on it's own citizens 24/7?

What laws are ya taking about?

I think most Americans know they are already. Almost everyone knows/is related to some military person. I think Obama knows it as well.
