Saudi Prince Bandar behind chemical attack in Syria: report

Syrians in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta say Saudi Arabia provided chemical weapons for an Al-Qaeda linked terrorist group which they blame for the August 21 chemical attack in the region, a Mint Press News report says.
The article co-authored by a veteran AP reporter, said interviews with doctors, residents, anti-government forces and their families in Ghouta suggest the terrorists in question received chemical weapons via Saudi spymaster Saudi Arabia's intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud.
The report quoted the father of a militant as saying that his son and 12 others were killed inside a tunnel used to store weapons supplied by a Saudi militant leader, known as Abu Ayesha.
The man described the weapons as having a tube-like structure while others were like a huge gas bottle.
Anti-government forces, interviewed in the article, complained they were not informed of the nature of the weapons they had been given, nor did they receive instructions how to use them.
When Saudi Prince Bandar gives such weapons to people, he must give them to those who know how to handle and use them, said one militant.
Another militant accused the Takfiri militants of the Al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front of refusing to cooperate with other insurgents or sharing secret information. They merely used some ordinary rebels to carry and operate this material, he said.
We were very curious about these arms. And unfortunately, some of the fighters handled the weapons improperly and set off the explosions, he added.
The authors noted that the doctors who treated the chemical weapons attack victims cautioned interviewers against asking questions regarding who exactly was responsible for the deadly assault.
Also more than a dozen militants interviewed said their salaries came from the Saudi government. They reportedly said Prince Bandar is referred to as al-Habib (the lover) by al-Qaeda militants fighting in Syria.
According to Independent, it was Prince Bandars intelligence agency that first accused the Syrian government in February of using sarin gas in a bid to rally support for Riyadhs efforts to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
And The Wall Street Journal has reported that the Saudi spy chief is considered by the CIA as a veteran of the diplomatic intrigues of Washington and the Arab world [who] could deliver what the CIA couldnt: planeloads of money and arms, and...wasta, Arabic for under-the-table clout.

Then you didn't read the original Israeli report or the articles stating how its intel was twisted and misused. What the Israelis captured was a panicked and frantic call to the officer in charge of Syria's chems in rhe area demandimg to know if explicit orders AGAINST their use was disobeyed and if so, by whom. The officer responded in the negative and BEGGED the commander to come and check their inventory himself. NONE of theirs had been used and THAT is what is in Israel's actual report to the US intel agencies. I invite you or anyone else to read the LIVE thread where ALL if this has been posted several times. You can find it here:

No. That was from Russia Today. Russia is Iran's ally through Iran's unofficial membership in the SCO. Russia has supplied Iran with anti-aircraft weapons to defend its nuclear facilities from U.S. air attacks.

Congresscritter Keith Ellison (D-Minnestopid/Mecca) took the oath of office with hand on a Koran that was Thomas Jefferson’s. Yet he was clueless on why Jefferson read the Koran. Thus your Jefferson quote that bears repeating:
we are dealing with a group of people who want to kill us so they can go to paradise, it is our duty to send them

"What about this video of them doing it?"
Looks like an improvised piece of crap artillery of some kind fired by guerrillas. There's no reason to believe that the devices are chemical weapons, and from the looks of them, they're not. The sparse captions appear to be in Arabic. Even if Freepers read Arabic, there's no evidence that the source of the captions is credible.
If the anti-Assad guerrillas had chemical weapons that could kill nearly 1500 civilians over a large area and in separate buildings, the gas would have been delivered by air, artillery or fogging trucks--not by improvised junk. Chemicals capable of such numbers of kills (including indoors) in wide, builtup areas are difficult to develop.

Listen Obama defender, why don't you go over there yourself and fight for the Christians in Syria.
The truth has smacked you in the face several times, yet you choose to believe a lie.
NEVER FORGET:
Don't let anyone deceive you in any way,for [that day will not come] until the rebellion occurs and the man of LAWLESSNESS is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped,so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?
And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.
For the secret power of LAWLESSNESS is already at work;but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
And then the LAWLESS ONE will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth
and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
The coming of the LAWLESS ONE will be in accordance with the work of Satandisplayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders,
and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing.
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
For this reason God sends them a POWERFUL DELUSIONso that THEY WILL BELIEVE THE LIEand so that ALL will be condemnedwho have NOT BELIEVED THE TRUTHbut have delighted in wickedness.

How could we benefit from allowing Assad to continue a regime that has been supporting Iran’s buildup? I don’t see the advantage in that. Also according to public news of the recent past, Iran sent quite a bit of support to Assad. Several nations aligned with Iran have also threatened to retaliate against the U.S.A. in the event of any U.S. strikes against Assad’s forces (common knowledge now).
Christians in Syria and Lebanon are anti-Israel and have repeatedly unified with their Muslim countrymen against Israel.
As for contemporary politics, I don’t care. Both political parties are socialist and have been supporting bands of favored constituents dependent on big government for incomes against the private sector. Both have over-regulated against new, domestic production business starts from every level of government, destroyed fatherhood and families while collaborating with foreign communist governments against the U.S.A. Most politically active constituents are concerned with supporting feminism and other anti-family pathologies against conservatism. Favored constituents in both political parties are anti-Israel.

Harb pledges to be forceful president [Maronite "ready to fight" Israel, "protect Hezbollah"] Lebanese Lobby (Lebanon) ^ | 11SEP07 | Francis Matthew

"
Beirut: Boutros Harb, long-serving Maronite Lebanese Member of Parliament, is standing for president and reaching out to the Shiite Hezbollah, across the political divide in the country.
[...]
"I have proposed that the Lebanese army and government must be in control of declaring war, and that we should find a way to incorporate Hezbollah's forces into the army. But this has to be on the condition that the Lebanese government and army accept the full duty of being ready to fight and protect Hezbollah if Israel attacks," he said, adding that it was also important that Lebanon had to liberate the occupied territory of the Sheba'a Farms from Israel."

Ohhh! A mysterious tube-like structure. Huge gas bottles. Coupled with the source, the story is simply not believable. Seems to be told by people who have no idea what chemical weapons even look like A chemical weapon can be in any form. Naturally, it's handier if it is packaged for end user; however a simple gas cylinder with a grenade around the valve will kill just as well.
Additionally, if the gas is distributed in unmarked, generic cylinders then it's harder to associate it with any specific source - like Saudi Arabia, for example.
I tend to think If insurgents were being supplied with this stuff, it would be in the form of artillery shells, mortar rounds, or perhaps rockets.
Rebels, as I understand, don't have much of artillery or missiles. What they have may use a wrong caliber. Saudis are armed with US weapons; Syria is armed with USSR's weapons. The rebels' sort of delivery technology would be a junky Toyota pickup, loaded with a few of those gas cylinders and a small explosive charge, driven by a suicide bomber. Another option is to leave the chemical weapon behind during a retreat and activate it remotely, once the enemy forces are in range.
