This stuff gets real old. I plan to shut myself off from all events commemorating the famous 1963 speech by Martin Luther King: what should prove to be an endless parade of grievance mongering and a grab bag of leftist causes. I'll pass.

My great grandfathers went to war on the Union side, and several of them died. When the one brother who lived got back from the war, the family farm was in ruins and everything was gone. He eventually committed suicide.

If the blacks want reparations, I want money for my families ruined business, farm and money for all the dead folks.

Bet my claim is better than theirs.

Davis thinks reparations don’t have to mean paying people outright. He has in mind special incentives like education and training to lift people out of poverty, all of which he thinks can “in a sense be called reparations.” But reaching consensus on what those would look like has proven no less complex.

Well, then, we've paid you reparations. We've done all that, and more. It's not the fault of whites that so many of you pissed away those opportunities. We've paid for your education, training, health care, housing...any fool can see we've more than paid for what your ancestors went through.

The saddest...and there must be a better word...thing about all of this is what this message sends to the young people who may decide to grasp and cling to this as a lifeline... these race pimps are ruining the lives they purport to care about.

There are few ‘groups’ of people in the world that were not slaves of some other group at some point in history. They all got over it and moved on ... not so the blacks in the US.

It would seem that when whining, begging, threatening, blackmailing, and extortion are the best you can do to "achieve" anything, that's what you do. As you say, every race in history has had ts turn at enslaving and being enslaved, American blacks are the only ones to use it as an excuse for their failure as a race. It seems that's all they have. Other races didn't need to make excuses, because they forged ahead in achievement, and anyway until the Sixties and "white guilt", other races would've laughed a people off the face of the earth if they'd whined and begged and moaned for things from other people that they showed themselves incapable of achieving through their own abilities. Groups of people didn't cut each other any slack, it was "survival of the fittest" until whites decided we ought to handicap ourselves and give blacks a head start so they could "catch up"-for all the good that's done. Now, they seem to be regressing backwards. "Out of Africa", indeed.

I kind of like the idea of reparations.
But didnt we pay them just by having a no-experience race divider like Obama as POTUS?

A black man is the one who introduced slavery into this country and ruined this great country. My ancestors fought in the American revolution.

I want to be paid reparations for the time, energy and money that my ancestry , for generations, put forth to bring this country into existence and to fight in almost every American war since. All of that??? for the black man to ruin it.

Even if you gave every black person 100k (about 3 -4 trillion), a very large percentage of them would blow it in a very short time. As would most white people. People not trained to make and keep money tend to lose it in very short order.

Heck, since every race in history has been enslaved or the enslaver at one time or another, let’s just everybody sue everybody for reparations.

I’ll give them this, American blacks are the only ones who have managed to take an occurrence which has happened to just about everybody’s ancestors in one way or another, at one time or another, in history, and turn it into an eternal free ride. Everybody else just accepted it as history and got on with achieving whatever they were capable of achieving. Maybe that’s why American blacks keep on with the grievance whining, because if they let that go, they have nothing. Even when handed ready-built functioning successful areas to rule (Detroit, South Africa), they manage to make a mess of them. (Just like Hussein’s doing to America, only I think in his case it’s intention,al). When you have nothing else going for you, the best you can do is to make excuses and cast blame on everybody else for your failure. And destroy what others create out of sheer spite, even though they’re hurting themselves worse than they hurt anyone else (discounting the violence when it spills over from the hood, and the billions of taxpayer dollars spent on fixing problems which never get fixed) . After all, who lives in the hoods they trash and turn into violent jungles? (But Hussein has a plan to “fix” that, with his plan to move ghetto gangstas into white flight communities. Sort of a reverse “redistribution” of the dysfunction. We get to have our earnings redistributed, and in return he will see to it that we get our “fair share” of the ghetto dysfunction).

But their blame is misplaced-instead of blaming whites, they should be blaming Mother Nature. But I suppose that wouldn’t get them anything, besides undermining their oh-so-fragile self esteem (which is interesting, when studies have shown that blacks have the highest self-reported self esteem of all races). Yet the government is always coming up with new plans to improve the self esteem of black criminals, and extort millions more dollars from the tax-paying suckers to pay for it. I guess they think our self esteem is just fine. They don’t seem to get the connection between taking responsibility for your own life and your own children, and having healthy self esteem-not too little, and not falsely inflated.
