> Is it wrong that this story makes me smile? Is it worse that I enjoy that picture?
I see an awful lot of work for no tips in that picture. We know why the restaurant was happy to comply with the “little old white lady’s” wishes. Let’s be real here. They don’t get it and never will. Those who have had to work hard for a living do though.
Can’t always tell who will tip well and who will not. usually a restaurant adds in the gratuity for a group that size. Worst tip I ever got, back when I was working at a supper club, was from a group of county and municipal judges.
My youngest delivered pizzas for about 4 year, through college.
One thing he said he could count on, a pizza delivery to a Black residence was certain to recieve no tip.
Rather than the casually flung “racism” charge, I wonder if it was specific prejudice. There was an interesting thread posted here last year or so where almost one hundred servers expressed that large groups are the most difficult to serve and that most experiences with large black groups were worse; they are more demanding and tip far less on average. Anyone remember this? The comments were pretty abundant...
I hope that family sues for every penny that restaurant has and then some. The comments on this thread are downright nasty and disgusting! I am saying a prayer tonight that they sue and win enough money to never have to worry about sitting for two hours to get some wings. I can't believe this thread is Free Republic and not some liberal site. Unbelievable!
