In their eyes, the "Great Society" and the "revolution" of the 1960s succeeded brilliantly for blacks, who are still being oppressed, and still struggling against The Man! This epidemic of violence is nothing more than those damn right-wingers being racist again! Similarly, even though the latest data again shows "global warming" to be complete bunk, they will undergo the most severe contortions possible to avoid admitting they were suckered into a hoax.
