Dome Time T-Shirt in a family restaurant - offensive
Personal Observation | 24 August 2013 | Mene

Posted on 08/24/2013 8:08:13 PM PDT by MeneMeneTekelUpharsin

Have you ever seen this? A man was eating in a Mexican food family restaurant in South Central Texas when another nearby customer, his wife and 8-10 year old son got up to leave. As the man stood up, the customer noticed that the shirt had the title "Dome Time" with two stick figures beneath the title.

The "Dome Time" had white letters for "Do", orange for "me" and white for the last word "Time". The stick figure on the left was male, standing there holding the other figure's head, a female stick figure, as she knelt to perform fellatio on him. The customer mentioned to the waitress that the shirt was offensive and as she turned to look, her expression showed her disgust. The shirt-wearing guy glared back, obviously upset that he wasn't getting smiles and a thumbs up. As he left, he had a very ugly stare inviting conflict.

Several points come to mind:

1. What happens when this foolish man wears that shirt into a family-oriented location and encounters another man with daughters of age who doesn't like them exposed to such filth?

2. What happens when some other foolish person redesigns the shirt and labels the kneeling female figure with the title, "Your wife."

3. What kind of person is this 8-10 year old boy going to be when he grows up with a father figure like THAT?

4. What happens when he put his hands on someone who doesn't like his shirt after words are exchanged and he is shot dead over that vulgar shirt? The customer he was glaring at and with whom he was trying to escalate the situation into a conflict could have been armed.

It seems like almost every day something even more wicked happens than the day before. How long before we ARE Sodom and Gomorrah?

killjoy--"It’s a T-Shirt. Lighten up Francis."

freerepublicchat--Do you live in his town? If not, then mind your own damn business. This doesn't concern you.

killjoy, I obviously disagree with your point, but you shouldn't have to listen to this whacked out, swearing, and nutty retread that signed up a few weeks ago, try to run you off the thread.

I find it interesting that from the day when the Pope resigned and lightning struck the Basilica to the 9th of Av 2016 is 1260 days. Rev.12 talks of the woman fleeing the dragon’s flood by going into the desert for 1260 days. Does it seem we are being flooded by evil as it gets worse every day?

if its one thing I don't understand in our "diverse" and "tolerant" culture is why women are treated with such totally disgusting behavior...

women....if your "man" does these kinds of things, don't go out with him....bury such a shirt in the garbage...

refuse to let him have nudie magazines around...refuse to let him listen to rap...

if women would just start demanding respect, we could actually get it...

Women should start accusing men of sexual harassment en masse. Oh wait, they’re already doing it.

If he had a car he could run him over. Hey, if he had a lighter, he could have torched the place. What’s the matter with you? Any other “couldas” you can add to your foolish straw man argument?

Now that you mention it, he COULD HAVE grabbed a plate of hot food(or cold) and accidentally tripped and poured it over the head.. of the shemotzle..

and apologized for missing his face.. and left the place leaving no trace he was ever there.. waiting outside to record the license plate of his car.. or following him home..

Whoever made that T-shirt should be sent to a gulag for re-education in the frozen tundra.

I am a Libertarian, and I am one because it’s the last place a true Conservative can go to. I believe in personal freedom and small govt.

Is there room in the GOP for me? The GOP has done everything possible to get rid of Conservatives, and I finally got the message.

The Libertarian party does have a fair number of whackjobs, but far fewer than the GOP has.

People keep voting for dems and republicans, yet things continue to get worse, regardless which party is in charge.

Vote as you wish. I’ll stockpile guns/ammo/food, and wait. Our govt will never change except by the point of a gun. The sooner the better....

Libertarianism is called that because it is anti-conservative while retaining conservative economics.

I’m a conservative and an independent, the GOP is too liberal for me, but it is no where near as leftist as libertarianism.

I’m conservative economically, and on social and military issues, and national defense.

Go to Panama City, Florida during spring break, and check out the t-shirts at the souvenir shops. They try to be as vulgar as possible. Each one trying to out do the other.

Anyone killing someone over what they wear on their shirt does not belong in public.

You are so correct. Anyone advocating punishing someone for wearing a t-shirt or distributing a drawing showing Mohammed with a bomb on his head would fit that category of not belonging in public, wouldn't they? How about someone attacking someone for wearing an Obama mask while performing as a rodeo clown, would they also not belong in public? How about those who expelled a student for wearing an NRA t-shirt or other pro-gun shirt, wouldn't they also not belong in public?

You know, why not just manufacture a t-shirt showing Mohammed kneeling in place of the female figure on the shirt. Now, that would be a big seller, wouldn't it? And, if someone wears that shirt and someone else advocates killing the wearer, well, the one who is upset doesn't belong in public, does he? I mean, if the artwork, message or symbolism on one's clothing doesn't matter, why not just allow anything? Why make rules about anything? Why should we have respect for anyone's values at all? Why have values? Why worry about anyone killing anyone?

Are you mental?

the ‘polite’ part had to do with not robbing you while you walked the streets or in your home. it had nothing to do with the ‘approved’ attire

if you think being armed will enable you to enforce your personal dress code belief system, due to the implied threat of shooting any violators, then yes... the ‘you’ was directed at you

Yes, it's a T-shirt. Does that mean "anything goes?" How about, "Kill all the effing military veterans!"?

In the libertarian sense of the word, “polite”, I take the meaning to be that people would be self regulating.

I wonder how long it would take that jerk to sue the owner if:
1) Waitress sees T-shirt and refuses to serve said jerk.
2) Owner/Manager comes out and asks the guy to leave - a variation of “No Shoes, No shirt, No Service” - and - “No Sense”.
