As our dear friends at Twitchy observed, Neblett on Wednesday had some things to say about the black unemployment rate both nationally and in specific parts of the country.
Follower MojoMoe retweeted one saying "Blame slavery."
Neblett - who's actually a co-host of a nationally televised, weekday program on a so-called cable "news" network! - retweeted MojoMoe's pathetic comment and added, "That's obviously part of it."
Never mind that the 13th Amendment abolished slavery on December 6, 1865 almost 150 years ago.
Did I mention that this genius is a host on a nationally televised cable "news" network?
Where on my profile page do I defend slavery?
I like Bedford Forrest...read about him and slavery and the end of his life
You don’t know me...you are surmising
My views on seccession and the civil war are more nuanced and contextual
I do not think slavery is the worst of human behavior ever and certainly not as practiced in north America
It is agonized over since whites mostly did it and whites are held to a higher standard.
The war was a culmination of decades of contention with expansion of slavery likely the major but not sole issue
The war was fought by the north to prevent the south from leaving and by the south against an invading force at which point why it started becomes less significant
It should have been avoided...fire eaters and radical GOP were just twins opposed
Lincoln....I’m ambivalent....his terms were generous... but he made the Leviathan a reality..
Both sides were equally racist....not that I particularly care
Sherman did indeed commit war crimes in my view yet his terms rejected by the radicals were decent
In the end...a lot of good countrymen of shared DNA and culture died.....and should have been avoided
And for what.....this stupid crap today....white culture under assault
Socialism and our cities war zones
Open borders
When the brown wave takes over your state...and they will....and Holder is doing his best
It will be lost for all of us....Juan Seguin will be considered a traitor to LA sangre and the Alamo and San Jacinto and Goliad like some Nazi site of the oppressive Anglo
Long may your Bonnie Blue lone Star wave but all will save you guys is decent Yankees move in enough for work to offset la raza
If it goes South...lol....you’ll know how I feel
my understanding is the north was telling the south what they could and could not do
"Lincoln's Fault - for when it's just too damned important to blame on Bush"
/s
Gimmie an R.E.P.A.R.A.T.I.O.N.S.. what does is spell.. Race war.
Well stated Bidimus1. Of course there will always be those with a perpetual chip on their shoulder that blinds them from the truth.
The only slavery is the Democrat Party Porch called WELFARE. Blacks are just too dumb to get that. As Rush says, you can’t defeat Santa Clause, meaning, there are some people stupid enough to sell out their future for cheap welfare in exchange for their vote.
Playing dumb is stupid. You should know that a strawman argument is one whereby the other guy claims something the other person never said and demands they defend it. Playing dumb is for liberals. Are you a liberal?
Maybe they don’t realize they are free.
I lived in south Philly till I was 14, never realized I was free to leave. :)
Oh please my ahole racist peer said all the black on black killings is because of slavery and that there is still rage over that.
That is correct.!! The democrats need poverty in much the same way that policemen need crime...
I stated that you supported the CSA I said nothing about slavery, but as the CSA is hand in glove I can see how you might have conflated my statement
I would have preferred there not be a war
If that means to you I am a CSA supporter unequivocally then you are a stranger to context
I do know I am southern and proud of it and our past
Northerners...non southerners most who were not here then are not my moral superior but on average many are my cultural inferior.....they are progressives exponentially more likely than we are
Now you've got something more to work with...the white South and a few rural states are the last redoubt
You must be young to believe the narrative
I was a left meaning libertarian in my long haired youth
But my culture was not under attack then like now
Neos like beck and Levin and others....some of whom I like otherwise see race as our crucible and the demonization of my group as the cleansing agent from which to purge all of Americas politically incorrect transgressions by the white male dominated Christian culture
I am not gonna cotton to that
And if you truly are southern born and bred and do....well...that's sad
For disclosure I love Texas ...lived off turtle creek as a young boy....have kinfolks in Pritchett.....a love once from Abilene and a good pal in Pampa
goddaughter in Silsbee
And so forth
Texas is Dixie and the west starts halfway tween Dallas and Fort Worth
Your destiny is ours trust me.....careful what u wish for
Challenge a Rats sometime with this: If the Democrats are for poor people, then they need people to stay poor to get their power. And, if the Republicans are for the rich man it stands to reason that they need more rich people to stay in power. So, which party wants you to get rich and which wants you to stay poor?
“The 3/5th person is about as imposed as it gets.”
“Or it imposed as the highest law of the land that some people were not people.”
The claim that the 3/5 compromise means that slaves were not regarded as people is the sort of nonsense that current generations tell themselves in order to puff up their vanity. It’s vanity based on ignorance, which makes it all the more risible.
The slave States wanted slaves counted as persons. Congressional seats were apportioned on population, and having slaves counted increased their number of House seats.
The anti-slavery States didn’t want slaves counted because they didn’t want slave States to get more representation in the House.
The 3/5 compromise had nothing to do with whether or not slaves were people. It had everything to do with whether or not they were to be counted for the purpose of electing Representatives to Congress.
The institution of slavery was thousands of years old before the founders were born.
The institution of slavery existed on these shores before the first European ever set foot here, as it did in the rest of the world.
Slavery did not originate with the founders.
Because slavery did not originate with the Founders, they did not impose (v, to establish, force or inflict something on someone) slavery on anyone.
For those sold in bondage on these shores, the imposition of their status occurred before they were loaded on the boat (they were already slaves when they arrived, only their ownership changed).
The Founders did not do that.
What the Founders did accomplish was to lay the foundations of a government based on human rights which eventually abolished the institution of slavery.
Blaming the founders for slavery makes as much sense as demanding reparations for the institution from people who never owned slaves, and in many cases, whose ancestors were not even here at the time the practice existed.
Fixed for readability
One does not have to originate something to impose it. The laws against murder were not created by the founders but the US IMPOSED the legal sticture against it.

By the way that is an outright lie you submit that Texas sent as many men to the Union as to the CSA
70,000 to the CSA
2,000 to the Union
What sort of Texan are you again?
An interloper type
You should meet Breckenridge
Don’t fumble too much...even your fellow Neos will throw you under the bus....shucks... some of them are scholars you know
What was the Federal Government telling the Southern states they could not do.
