"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Cruz at this time, is by far my first choice. All we need to do is kidnap Karl Rove, and send him to a gulag under armed guard .

Ted Cruz currently has Canadian citizenship and I won’t be voting for him. Period.

With respect to your thread just down below, this is why the Cruz birthers are now starting to ooze out of the woodwork.

Obvious idiot. This guy doesn’t realize that only moderates can win. Besides, plenty of Freepers know better than this no name wannabee.

Obama was the first “black” president
Rafael Edward Cruz would be first Hispanic President

Obama was a Senator for less than 2 years.
Cruz will have been a senator for 4 years.

Obama held office in the Illinois legislature.
Cruz was the solicitor general of Texas.

Cruz was an honors graduate of Princeton University.
Obama has never released a transcript.

Cruz was a law clerk for chief justice William Rehnquist.
Obama never put his law degree to work.

Obama was the editor of the Harvard Law Review and never penned an article.

Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995.[27][1] While at Harvard Law, Cruz was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.[4] Referring to Cruz’s time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, “Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant.”[19][28][29][30][31][32] At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.[33]

The Republicans can continually go after Hillary for all of her misdeeds - if they have the nads to do so.

Please refrain form using the words Beat and Hillary in the same sentence.

It sets off a dramatic Uptick In My PULSE RATE and Blood Pressure as well as inspiring an overwhelming the urge to purchase a LOUISVILLE SLUGGER!

Does Salon have to parade their own dementia, even when seeking to realistically discuss future possibilities? How can you start a discussion of an obviously very rational public figure with this sort of brazen attribution:

"He may be a right-wing nut,"

These folk cannot cover up their fanaticism, even when they are trying to appear dispassionate. It is very obvious, we think, who the "nuts" are.

And for a discussion of the thought processes of the Leftist/Egalitarian/Collectivists in our midst: Compassion Or Compulsion? Yes, of course, we are attributing neurotic motives to our foe. But the difference is that the article gives the reasons for the attribution. It is not gratuitous insult.

Weird how no one on the other side is ever referred to as out of the norm. Obama votes to allow babies to be murdered a halfway through birth by having the doctor use scissors on their skull but he will never be labeled as out of the norm. Our guy is always a ‘nut’. Even when most of the views are clearly majority opinion.

I like most of what I’ve seen from the senator so far. Let’s see how he conducts hmiself over the next several years. I’ve seen too many in the GOP go soft....not saying the senator will, but better safe than sorry.

Lefties are notoriously thin-skinned and Sen. Cruz has show a remarkable talent for making them come to a boil and say stupid things. Sen. Fineswine still has an arched back and erect neck hairs over their encounter.

Either Ted Cruz or Rand Paul could beat Hillary Clinton or Chris Christie. If either Cruz or Paul is not nominated as the GOP candidate, then I hope he runs as a third-party candidate, and I really believe the country is ripe for the election of a real conservative even if only with a 34 percent plurality.

Clinton is neck-deep in Benghazi.

How is she even a viable candidate?
