Let’s take account, shall we?
(A) Obama’s father was not a citizen of Kenya at the time he was born, ostensibly on American soil. Consetrvatives across American point to this as an issue of his ineligibility.
(B) Cruz’s father was a Cuban citizen at the time he was born on Canadian soil. Conservatives point to his mother’s citizenship as proof of his status as an “natual born citizen”
Nah....there’s no disconnect along ideological lines in this argument.
Ooops...errata on point (A)
Obama’s father was a citizen of Kenya (My OP says “was NOT a citizen”).
One of them hates what America is was and everything we say we stand for.
One of them loves America and everything we say we stand for.
Believe it or not, some people don't understand that key difference.......particularly the Washington Compost and the rest of the totalitarian left.
By law, in order to confer cictizenship, a parent had to have 14 years of US residency, 5 after the age of 14. Dunham was 18 and did not meet this requirement. For Cruz, we would just need residency documents for his mom...
Obama’s father was not a citizen of Kenya when he was born or when Obama was born? What country then?
TEd Cruz’s father was a Cuban citizen when he was born in Canada or when Ted Cruz was born in Canada?
I thought the age of Barack’s mother was also a point of eligibility speculation. She was 18 at the time of birth.
Stanley Ann Dunham was born November 29, 1942.
She was married February 2, 1961 (it was invalid because Mr. Obama was still married to another woman).
Barack Obama was born August 4, 1961.
She moved to Washington in September 1961 while her husband remained in Hawaii.
