Also when I worked in Seattle, one of my black supervisors told me when she first moved there from DC she was offended at how black folks talked to white folks and got along with each other. She said in DC it is very segregated (I took this to mean this came from both sides.) My comment to her was "that is very sad. I am glad you got over it."
