White people are products of their own whitewashed, sanitized environment. Black people have been systematically excluded from white neighborhoods. Black stories rarely surface in popular culture. The history of race in high school textbooks has been boiled down to a handful of bedtime stories about Jackie Robinson and Rosa Parks. Try to tap into the average white person's feelings on race and you won't necessarily find feelings of hate and antipathy. You just won't find much of anything, no fully formed or well-considered thoughts about race of any kind. There's nothing really there. Even white people who want black friends don't know where to start.

What a crock! I have had many Black friends (and Hispanic, Asian, Indian, Iraqi, Native American, etc, etc). I know many people of WASP heritage who have friends of color. This drivel is exactly the type of tripe that breeds mistrust of White people by people of color, and is the worse type of racisism there is IMO.
They do.
Next question.
Because “I ain’t no ways tired”?
Hillary is lily white and I would never be her friend.
Thank you.
False assumption, and a racist one, too. I have several black friends and have had many others.
A better question: Why don’t blacks like having whites as friends? I have NEVER had a white person say they wouldn’t invite to their home a black person but I have had most blacks say they would never invite a white person to their home.
Seems that CNN is now publishing 3rd graders.
I don’t have black friends, and I don’t have to apologize for it.
BS
Simple math would suggest that blacks should have a lot more white friends than whites having black friends.
Ahhh, could it be that, with exceptions conspicuous by their rarity, too many blacks embrace a culture that produces and tolerates far more VIOLENCE than most white folks are comfortable with.
Those exceptions are men like Dr. Alan Keyes, Col. Allen West, Dr. Thomas Sowell, Dr. Walter Williams, FBN/FNNs Charles Paine, Dr. Ben Carson and scores of thousands of others whose names we don’t know who overcame suffering being called “too white” or trying to “act white” by their less motivated childhood associates and neighbors, escaped their difficult early circumstances and went on to become successful in life.
You see, it’s not racial damnit. IT’S CULTURAL!!!
Gentry White liberals are above anyone (especially conservative working people of white or black color).
Plus you find as many blacks outside of the south and Northern inner cities.
Actually, there is at least about 60-70% of the white race I don’t want anything to do with.
Seems like it has a lot more to do with values, morals, and ethics rather than skin color.
With the right values, morals, and ethics I wouldn’t give a dam if the person was Zebra-striped!
Just when you think they couldn’t get any dumber . . .
O.K. Let's turn it around.
"Why don't blacks have white friends"?
I'd wager the "numbers" would be even "worse" -- despite the more favorable proportions.
Well said!
I’ve been sucker punched, roughed up, accosted, shaken down, and verbally abused six times in my life...all by black males in small, medium and large cities. Never once by my many friends and acquaintances from 20 different nations and cultures. I’m not one to make sweeping generalizations, but this is simply enough empirical evidence for me.
When a white person brings a black friend to a party of all whites, they will trip over themselves to make that person feel welco0me an will probably vote them Homecoming King/Queen.
try being the only white person at an all-black get-together with a black friend and see how he treats you when he gets around other blacks.
Been there...done that 40 years ago.
I don’t think things ahve improved

That last paragraph may be the most white guilt laden drivel that I've ever read. The author should be checked for a severe case of Liberalitis.
