How redefining marriage threatens freedom of speech

Some months ago I somewhat reluctantly wrote on the subject of gay marriage. I argued at the time that the agenda of the gay lobby was not simply marriage equality but that the lobby (not individual gays) was preparing for an assault on religion. My concern has been borne out by an article by Dennis Altman, an internationally renowned academic and gay activist. In "Queer push for marriage", which appeared recently in the Australian Financial Review, Altman makes it clear that the real target for the gay lobby is religion.

Until conservatives, even libertarians, realize that homo "rights" is about attacking and abolishing religion, and by proxy, all freedom-loving citizens, we will never win. It is not an innocuous movement, but implacable - to the point of totalitarianism.

When people are being fired from 19 years in the Air Force for an opinion and things have gone from tolerance to persecution of those who disagree I think a lot more than just speech is threatened

Of course, the removal of religion from having any influence is the basic aim of all the anti-family lobbies.

In every successful civilization, the family is the “unit” upon which the entire community survives.

These anti-family agencies are trying to Establish their version of ‘religion’ - atheism - in contravention of our Constitution.

Constant assaults on any of the rights we hold dear are a way of scaring people into silence. Many may disagree but we are already seeing it in some areas of our lives. I read an excellent article by Peggy Noonan. She wrote it in regards to 'spying', but it holds true in other ways too.

Noonan: What We Lose if We Give Up Privacy

If citizens don't have basic rights to privacy they will feel threatened. This will make them concerned about what they do and say and will have the effect of constricting freedom of expression. The inevitable end of surveillance is self censorship. Peggy Noonan

America has looked evil in the face and embraced it. As the old preacher says There will be a payday someday. There is no telling what freedoms are being taken away. Thank God that I have a terminal illness.

The first clue was when the homo lobby rejected the idea of civil unions to address their so-called equality issues and went all out to redefine marriage.

I’ll pray along with you FRiend.
Sad days already, when it’s better to keep your mouth shut in the Military and even in colleges if you want to pass!

Yep, and people still wonder why I want to leave. This is likely to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

Hang on and keep praying Mark. The simmering dissent may come to a boiling point before too long.

“The first clue was when the homo lobby rejected the idea of civil unions to address their so-called equality issues and went all out to redefine marriage.”

It was always about using the power of the state to punish those who don’t buy into whatever impossible definition the state is using at the time. As far actually redefining marriage, the state doesn’t really have this power, although many have been conditioned to believe that marriage is simply whatever judges, pols, or the voting majority thinks it is at any one time.

They can make pretend all they want to but there is no such thing as “marriage” unless it is between one man and one woman.

Well, I certainly keep praying. It must come to a boiling point sooner or later. The liberals/socialists/communists/Muzzies, can not keep pushing forever, before the other side starts to push back. When we push back, and by what method we push back, remains to be seen.

The sodomites are power hungry, just like the islamists. If the sodomites and islamsists are successful in liquidating Christians and Jews, and just the two of those groups remain, I’d go all in on the muzzies. They are crazier and more murderous than the sodomites. And Islamist sexual activity actually leads to babies, so the sodomites will be outnumbered even more than they already are.

Civil unions wouldn’t have saved us, regardless. It would have been just another way to say that sexual perversion is okay, and blessed by the government. Just as deadly a move.
