Constant assaults on any of the rights we hold dear are a way of scaring people into silence. Many may disagree but we are already seeing it in some areas of our lives. I read an excellent article by Peggy Noonan. She wrote it in regards to 'spying', but it holds true in other ways too.

Noonan: What We Lose if We Give Up Privacy

If citizens don't have basic rights to privacy they will feel threatened. This will make them concerned about what they do and say and will have the effect of constricting freedom of expression. The inevitable end of surveillance is self censorship. Peggy Noonan

One of my boys is an officer in the Navy. 27 years. I am praying that “they” leave him alone so that he ca get full retirement.
