And this is where I have a problem with the evangelicals...there is going to be a time when Christians will be martyred/murdered. In those coming days, there will be a great falling away as many who 'believed' they would be raptured before their torture and death will feel deceived and abandoned. Rev 6:9 isn't just talking about the early church, nor is Rev. 20:4 talking about those who are raptured, but speaks of those who were beheaded for their testimony and/or refusal to accept the mark of the beast.
Things will not get better from here. The time is quickening unto the end of days. Pray for the martyrs.
I’m an evangelical. I think there are plenty of us who will give our lives to stand up for our beliefs. I don’t know too many who think we won’t have hard times.
Corrie Ten Boom said that the preaching of ideas along the lines of the rapture left the European church unprepared for the persecution they faced from the Nazis.
I often ask God for the grace to be a faithful witness when and if I am ever faced with such a choice. I am not asking to be tested in such, but if that comes my way, please enable and empower me to stand firm, faithful and outspoken for Jesus.
“raptured before their torture and death”
Screw that, I want to hang out and fight these bastards.

Yup but are you saying that we must go quietly into the night? What’s your point?
