Mike and his fiancé woke up at 2 a.m. on Saturday after they heard a loud bang.
"The dogs were barking. I left my bedroom to find an intruder standing in my kitchen; he was ordered to stop. He advanced forward, and that's when I did what I had to do to protect myself and my family," he explained.
Mike said his house was dark and groggy before he saw a silhouette coming for him. After ordering the person to stop, Mike said he fired two gun shots.
"At that point in time you are in fear for your life. You don't know if this guy is armed; you don't know what he is armed with; you don't know what his intentions are; you can't take those chances in the middle of the night," he said.
Deputies said the man in the kitchen was 25-year-old Cody Millerwho lives across the street from Mike.

Funny, my neighbors know not to tromp into my home in the middle of the night, right past my Gadsden Flag.
???
“Mike said his house was dark and groggy
???”
Yes, I caught that too. I did not write it. It was for a TV report. Sometimes I think they just use software to make the written reports.
"It was a dark and groggy night..."
BTW, sorry about the double post.
Actually, that’s a great line.
I’ve been pretty groggy myself at times, but I don’t think my house has been.
Particularly in the era of Section 8.
Just wait ‘till Holder and his fellow cretin/felons start placing more “neighbors” in your neighborhood. Neighbors that they wouldn’t live next too...but think should live next to you.
Liberal College indoctrinated Journ-o-list Degree no doubt...Edumacation is important dontcha know!
He was in diabetic shock and thought he was on his way to choir practice at St.Trayvon Episcipal Church.
Well that sucks, these days all the houses on a street look alike. Poor victim may have only been drunk and confused.
Neighbor had too much grog?
Never seen a groggy house.
I don't think English is required in college like it used to be. Anyway, they are more interested in indoctrination than teaching actual useful subjects.
vaudine
His house was groggy. Probably smelled like the Stumble Inn, too. So naturally...
What was it that the neighbor shot?
Do drunk and confused people often kick their own doors in?

That’s why holder and others want to get rid of “Stand Your Ground” it will make it more safe for some of these new neighbors to ply their trade and supplement their “income” from the government.
My neighbors are armed and I know it.
