The misspelling of Jones Beach as Jonse on a new sign on Long Island's Robert Moses Parkway is making the rounds on social media.
Jeena Belil, of Brookhaven, who saw the misspelled sign on Facebook, told Newsday she was shocked somebody didn't proofread the sign.

Spelling would not seem to be much of a challenge for the ethnic group in question.

Basically, it's a Welsh name. And Welsh are pretty good spellers, their language providing examples.
Unlike New Yawk sign-writers with inflated, double-dip public sector pensions.
Most likely triple- and quadruple-dip, the way public sector employees go on. The Long Island RR is lucky to have correctly spelled signs.
how would you pronounce something like that?
Something like “Tlan-vire-pull-gwyn-gill-go-ge-reesh-urn-drub-ool-lantoo-silly-o-go-go-gauche”.

Well, I think that’s cool.
lolz
“Jon-say” I would imagine.

That would be messed up for the kid
They all speak perfectly fine UK English.
It's just that some of them also speak fluent Welsh. And it's a point of political pride to preserve the language within the UK.
