Last month, I wrote about Russia’s harsh backlash against gay-rights activism (“Russia Says ‘Nyet’ to Gay Adoptions“), and it turns out that this explains the cancellation of a scheduled summit:
The Wall Street Journal, among others, reports that President Barack Obama has decided to cancel a summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin over Russia’s grant of temporary asylum to NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Yet that cannot possibly be the case. A few weeks ago, when Snowden arrived in Russia, Obama brushed the issue aside: he was not “scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker,” he said.
Obama also downplayed the Snowden issue on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday, as the Daily Caller notes. But he played up the conflict over gay rights, citing Russia’s insistence that it will enforce its anti-gay laws during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (and confusing them with the Summer Olympics in the process). He claimed that he had “been very clear” that gay rights “should transcend every country.” . . .

The astute reader will perceive how the whole “neocon imperialist crusader” philosophy of Bush administration foreign policy, which Obama supposedly was going to reverse, has instead been simply converted to other purposes. Whereas the Republicans were going to spread “democracy” to the Middle East at the point of a bayonet, now the Obama regime aims to spread cultural liberalism by means of diplomatic hardball. This is a further sop to the same vocal minority that supports John Kerry’s recognition of foreign gay marriages for immigration purposes.
Can’t wait to see what the paleoconservatives have to say about this, and expect this may be a rare occasion of paleo/neo agreement.

I guess nobody who screams out loud at MSNBC has ever read this “anti-homosexual law”.
It has nothing to do with persecution of homosexual and comparing it to Holocaust is beyond ridiculous.
This law is a kind of DADT(to minors). “Gay pride” is banned for a single reason - it is public and you can’t hide it from children.
Queers aren’t banned from any kind of their activism as soon as it targets adults only. They can have their “pride” at private space as well.
hat makes it illegal is recruiting people under 18 into that kind of lifestyles.
For that same reason Obama and MSNBC and other critics of this law are backing pedophiles, not homosexuals (which is often the same).
When I was in school in the late 70’s and early 80’s we used to have drills to hide under our desks out of fear of the commies nuking us. Now, I want to hide under my desk out of fear of God’s wrath being struck on my own country. It is truly bizarro world....
Watch as the other shoe falls and Putin replys in some colorful and uniquely Russian way. What could he do? he’s got Snowdens data—he could release it. He could shut down our air link to Kabul leaving our troops with no way out. He could ban US movies from coming into Russia. He could stop all Americans from flying to the International Space Station. He could send out his bombers to see how close they can get to the USA? He could start by having people in Russia make a movie “The Truth about Obama”. He could send troops to Syria—more ships to the area—so many ways he could hit back. Will he? You bet! Just watch!
I have not read it but I know about the queer infiltrators. Please don’t use their language to effect a conversation. True homophobes are typically men who were molested as little boys by male homosexuals—Sandusky’s victims come to mind. We must not confuse an abominable and disgusting behavior with fear.
I only used the word “homophobe” in “” to show my disdain! Actually Lothar Machlan (I THINK I got his name right) made that claim himself (not with “”) to show that his research was disinterested and not to promote any agenda.
Actually any young men or boys should be “homophobes” and should avoid homosexuals like the plague (that they are).
Just as any normal person should be afraid of being around anyone with a virulent infective illness. Homosexuality is “catching” in the sense that homosexuals notoriously groom and/or molest young boys and teenagers, and many of them become homosexual themselves.
I cannot say how revolted and angered I am by OUR government’s promotion of mentally ill sex perversion all over the world.
