Broad U.S. terror alert mystifies experts; ‘It’s crazy pants,’ one says
McClachy ^ | August 7, 2013 | Hannah Allam

Posted on 08/07/2013 6:33:32 AM PDT by don-o

U.S. officials insisted Tuesday that extraordinary security measures for nearly two dozen diplomatic posts were to thwart an “immediate, specific threat,” a claim questioned by counterterrorism experts, who note that the alert covers an incongruous set of nations from the Middle East to an island off the southern coast of Africa.

Analysts don’t dispute the Obama administration’s narrative that it’s gleaned intelligence on a plot involving al Qaida’s most active affiliate, the Yemen-based Arabian Peninsula branch. That would explain why most U.S. posts in the Persian Gulf are on lockdown, including the U.S. embassy in Yemen, which on Tuesday airlifted most of its personnel to Germany in an “ordered departure,” the government’s euphemism for an evacuation.

But how, then, does it make sense for the State Department to close embassies as far afield as Mauritius or Madagascar, where there’s been no visible jihadist activity? And why is it that countries that weathered numerous terrorist attacks – Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq, for example – were excluded or allowed to reopen quickly?

It seems like every time Benghazi or another scandal heats up the obama regime does something to change the news cycle. I don't believe anything that comes from these corrupt scumbags.

oh no, this morning the Susan Rice administration leaked the fact that NSA intercepted a conference call of 20 al Qaeda leaders.

but shh, don’t tell our mortal enemy. They might figure out when and where that phone conference happened, change phone systems, codes, or go to courier.. something we used to consider grave damage to national security

It is yet another head fake to take the attention off the Obama scandals that have wracked the District of Corruption and our Supreme Leader's second term agenda of taking back the House so he can completely TRANSFORM America with no opposition.

You're right.

I quit trying to figure it out, myself.

There is now only ONE COMMON DENOMINATOR to everything that is unexplained and/or is explained very badly ...”O” is in the WH.

Everything the guy touches turns to s%$t!!

Either he consciously intends this result or else he is so irresponsible, corrupt and incompetent that the same result is inescapable.

Alternately, it’s an attack mounted on the perception of reliability of US intercepts: fake up some traffic and a “conference call” on a “major attack, wait for us to react. . .then do nothing.

Rinse and repeat several times. After a few iterations, nobody takes the intercepts seriously. THEN physically attack. . .

Not so “crazy pants.” An “ordered departure” of personnel, and embassy closures throughout an entire region is an expensive and highly disruptive proposition. Effectively neutralizing U.S. foreign policy by driving us from the field, without firing a shot. All reportedly based on a intercept of a “conference call” among Al Qaida top brass. Either somebody found a cheap way to shut us down, by simply getting on the horn and collectively shouting “BOO!” Or, somebody got their hands on some serious weaponry, and it doesn't matter if we're eavesdropping on their little coffee klatch, because there's nothing we can do about it. The wanted us listening.

Sure we can believe it. You know he is lying if the lie can’t withstand scrutiny in an open press conference. (Not that he would be scrutinized by the press). Rush absolutely nailed this guy, he is the not present president. He pretends he has nothing to do with anything, some mysterious force is making decisions and he simply comments on them, depending on how it affects him. He must go.

That was my first and only thought. They are trying negate the pushback agains’t the NSA spying on Americans. “Crazy Pants” works for me.

Next month we will all be wondering why there was no terror attack anywhere.

Rush is right about a lot of things political, that’s why the left despises him. The more they vilify and despise him the
more certain you can be that he is right on.

By being on the alert, Obama stopped the terrorist threat. They are so afraid of Obama they wouldn't dare strike when he goes on an all out alert. He is looking out for the American people, nothing political about his fake response to intercepted terrorist threats. Isn't it great, the administration can tell the public whatever they want, mostly designed to suit their agenda and the public buy it.

Thanks for the fascinating info. Taking the liberty to cut and paste from link you provided to Wikipedia:

RE Frantz Fanon:
Pre-eminent Bolivian indianist Fausto Reinaga also had some Fanon influence and he mentions The Wretched of the Earth in his magnum opus La Revolución India, advocating for decolonisation of native South Americans from European influence.
Fanon's influence extended to the liberation movements of the Palestinians, the Tamils, African Americans and others. His work was a key influence on the Black Panther Party, particularly his ideas concerning nationalism, violence and the lumpenproletariat. More recently, radical South African poor people's movements, such as Abahlali baseMjondolo (meaning 'people who live in shacks' in Zulu), have been influenced by Fanon's work.[18] His work was a key influence on Brazilian educationist Paulo Freire, as well. Barack Obama references Fanon in his book, Dreams from My Father

And I wonder how much influence the New Black Panthers have on BarryO, and vice versa.

So why is Snowden having to hide out in Russia, and not Susan Rice?

BarryO is now the butt of jokes in the mainstream media. Over at HuffPo, most comments deride his weakness in canceling the meeting with Putin.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/07/obama-putin-meeting_n_3718825.html

Which makes me wonder, is he going to create a terror event to vindicate his decision to close embassies? Will he then give even more power to the NSA?

I put nothing past this narcissistic punk.

My take is that Obama’s new National Security Advisor Susan Rice heard some chatter and panicked.

Most likely it is nothing but a way to justify the NSA. Snowden and Putin have already exposed his misdeeds and this is his little way of getting back into the game.
