When U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, R (at right) announces his candidacy for Senate at a barbecue this evening, he will be doing so as an early frontrunner in a 2014 race that could ultimately determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

I’m leaning towards Karen Handel at this time, though not committed to any candidate yet. Handel led the movement to cut off Komen Center funding to Planned Parenthood, one of the more noble causues of recent years. In addition, Handel has an inspiring life story.
Broun is hated by the black caucus for a VRA amendment and by MSNBC for suggesting the immigration bill will bring in more constitution hating Democrats.
Same poll has Former Republican Congressman and Drug Czar Asa Hutchinson (at right) holds an
eight-point lead over his Democratic rival for governor, former Democratic Rep. Mike Ross, D.
The two men are vying to replace Gov. Mike Beebe, D, who defeated Hutchinson for the job in
2006 but cannot run again due to term limits.

The rats are going to have nobody running in Montana at this rate.
Bad news about Broun. I thought he’d be the next senator for sure. How are those other two guys? I thought a Korean was running last time I looked.
I actually get a strong lesbian vibe from her.
Oops I forgot about her, she was my pick the gubernatorial race 3 years ago.
I’d probably have to go with her again over these 3 flawed Congressman.
I had no idea Broun was that old.
I think WV and AR are definite pickups. What does Cotton think about rape?
I think Barney Frank should fly in to support Pryor. Clearly looking at the two of them, Cotton is the “better man”. I’ve often wondered what Pryor has given as an excuse for not serving in the military. As I recall, his dad also avoided service during the Korean War; Born in 1934, he should have been on the front lines and instead went to a teachers college. Disgraceful.

You can bet your bottom dollar on South Dakota too. Montana pretty much locked up with Schweitzer not running. (I think Stapleton will be our nominee)
So, if we have WV, AR, SD,and MT, we only need two more seats to flip the senate.
Louisiana seems likely, with Landrieu outed as a gun-grabber. North Carolina is going to be a competitive race, but very winnable. Alaska requires a good candidate, but is also winnable.
Unfortunately when it comes to Iowa and Michigan, a lot of our top tier candidates are chickening out.
Karen Handel’s fundraising has been poor. Do you think he’ll be able to raise the money? Because the DNC will be pumping their printed bucks into Nunn.
