Do you have gun in the house?
GOOD TO KNOW!
When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay, the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit.
FYI, I am passing this along... there are comments from two other people I have also been asked if we keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask.
Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack.
The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else.
Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your business!!
So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!!
Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks, from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctor's appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?
The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.
Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !
If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.
Excellent advice.
My last conversation with my wife’s plastic surgeon for her breast reconstruction was Americans need to buy more guns.........
Who is asking?
It’s real easy to find out, just break in. If there are no loud booms and you’re still breathing, no Guns.
Absolutely not! Those things kill people!
I’ve been on to them for 50 years, one of the first things a kid in this family learns is not to talk about what we have at home.
No.
I just gave them all to my wife.
Recall that Obama has called veterans and gun owners (and Christians) "terrorists".
Now you know why they are asking these questions. Defending our country has turned us into "terrorists".
Good to know.
C'mon man. Just answer, "No. I have no guns in the house." Anything else is just begging for attention and probably results in a waste of time.
Have a Vet friend who was recently asked by his doctor at the VA if he had a gun in the house, since CA has a gun registry and the VA has access to his records he said yes. The VA docs are asking these questions. I’m sure the VA can alert the Feds here in CA to those who have a gun but “should” not have access to one. Kamala Harris and her minions hard at work implementing back door gun control against the will of the people.
Nope. No guns. I like to work quietly and silently so I use a steak knife.
I still remember a certain kid waaaay back in kindergarten telling everybody about his uncle’s pot plants. Kids talk.
“I” don’t have any in the house.
My wife however is well equipped.
No, but I have a dungeon where I keep people who ask the wrong questions.
Hmm.. You don't say.. Pix?
That one most likely had nothing to do with Obamacare but rather a real issue which is elder abuse. It can come from anyone. About ten or eleven years ago we had to change doctors. He didn't know us from Adam and thanks to one doctor a couple years before him being a prick with about 15 years of my wife's medical records. They were not available.
This is an ongoing disability and caregiver situation as well in our marriage. She had multiple scaring. Yes some of it was abuse from her childhood till a couple years before I met her over 28 years ago. We both calmly explained what was that some was pressure sores, some was her dad when she was young, some was her ex the rest etc. He was satisfied. He knows us now so it's not an issue. As he got to know us as time went on we found out he is as conservative as we are. He's also one darn good doctor.
We've had home health in the past year due to some surgery my wife had. They didn't ask us about firearms. My dad a couple years ago entered Home Hospice Care and yea they did ask if they were in the home and if secured. I said they are secured elsewhere.
Dad had cancer was taking morphine, Hydrocodone, & Haldol, among other drugs and it was the truth I took the weapons due to his deteriorated mental state. That one is a legit common sense question for that situation. It's a CYA liability issue for the Hospice even home Hospice because of the very strong medications involved besides just morphine. That is the only time we've been asked about weapons. How bad was his judgment? He tried to eat my hearing aids thinking they were candy.
If you want to stay healthy stay away from the doctor. If you stay away from the doctor, you won’t be asked questions that might be loaded in their own way to lead to gun grabbing.
Not the ones I raised.
