the church should sanction and perform the marriage.
The opening statement by the Priest/Pastor should be “The church is illegally forced to perform this UNHOLY union.”
The Priest/Pastor should then say “This unholy union is blessed by Government and condemned by God.”
Wrapping it up, “I unwillingly pronounce you Man and Man in damnation.”
RE: the church should sanction and perform the marriage.
I can’t see how they can stop this now.
The Queen, the titular head of the Church of England, just gave her approval to the new law that the supposed “conservative” David Cameron backed, legalizing gay marriage.
Next stop — a lawsuit FORCING all other non-Anglican churches to marry gays.
The only group they won’t touch would be the Muslims.
goodness gracious
i hate those people
can’t wait for the second version of the
tutsis and hutus
it would still be an unholy ceremony conducted in a holy place...bet we’ll see churches STOP doing weddings in any kind of public venue, and only by covert arrangements will any conservative minister or priest consent to bless a union between a man and a woman, and it will have to be conducted in a place removed from the church property or the priest’s/minister’s office and residence. Kinda like in the early days of the church when Christians used the fish symbol to indicate their secret meeting places and met in the catacombs under Rome. Or, recall the secret marriage of William Wallace in “Braveheart” where he married his sweet young bride in the forest at night with only a priest. Yep, blessed marriages between man & wife will have to go underground.

Your comment makes me realize that having the pastor of church sign a marriage certificate would not be enough. They would not be happy until the pastor will recite the exact words that they would demand.
