Despite clear faults, Jeb would have been much better than Mitt. For one, FL would have been in the bag. He also is a much better campaigner. He also could have done a much better job refocusing on Obama’s failures because he would have naturally had to defend the Bush record (the good parts), which the rest of the GOP is loathe to do.

That said, No and HELL no to Jeb in 2016. We need new, younger blood that can campaign against the last decade and a half of GOP weakness.

we’ve been betrayed by two Bush who claim they’re conservatives. At best, they’re socialist lite.

Jeb Bush is the one guy I’m pretty sure would have been worse than Romney.

Romney was the worst possible candidate, but the GOP shot down all the possibles early on and he was the only one who had the personal money to go ahead. They would never have run Bush because of his last name, in any case, since the GOP itself had a bad case of Bush Derangement Syndrome (many people here still do).

That said, I don’t think that Bush or anybody, except possibly Newt Gringrich, who ran or was considered a possible candidate the last time around should be presented again. Obama has completely derailed our country and converted it into a hate-riven, quasi-socialist, ex-world power, and nobody who from the pre-Obama era would be capable of either understanding what needs to be done or doing it.

I say that Gingrich might be capable of it, because he’s really the only one who warned against Obama’s plans during the campaign. Romney spent his way slashing and burning through the other GOP candidates, but did nothing to take on Obama.

So far, however, I haven’t heard a single person come out with a program to retake the country or purge it of Obama’s leftwing poison, so in my opinion, I haven’t seen anybody yet who might be the right candidate for 2016.

This is a Romney’s payback to the establishment- setting up Bush as the defacto nominee.
