I find it impossible to believe that the Pope is in any way open to a practising, non-repentant gay serving as a priets.

Some religions will allow an openly confessed 'gay' to be an "executive secretary" to a bishop.

Well, at least in some of those same religions you refer to, not if they are practising and unrepentant.

To have the "gay," tendancy does not mean thay act on it, or think it is okay. The LDS Church has made it clear that a person can be, in essence, a cellebate "gay," if they turn their life around and cease taking part in the life style and depend on Christ Jesus for redemption.

But, if they are actually "open," in the sense that they are giving in to those temptations/tenandcies and taking part in an active homosexual lifestyle, or if it is found out that they are, then they will not only be removed from such a position, they will either be dis-fellowshipped or ex-communicated.
