I just got back from a small local Wal-Mart. They had a DPMS AR in .223 for $607. That seems a reasonable price to me but I am not familiar with that brand.

Just looking at it, it seemed very well finished. It had a collapsible stock and a Picatinney rail. They also had a Mini-14 which surprisingly was priced a little higher than the AR. I will say it was better looking than the ones I owned maybe 25 years ago. The stock actually looked like walnut tho I doubt it really is.

I’m no AR expert, but I believe DPMS is one of the older AR manufacturers. My training replicas (airsoft) are DPMS panthers.

Things are starting to return to normal so I’m expecting to see sales also return to normal.

I’m not familiar with DPMS either but here in Maryland, it had been many months since I’d seen any AR-15 for less than $1995. One of my favorite gun shops was simply sold out (granted he runs a small shop) and he only had things on consignment at ridiculous prices (but he doesn’t set the prices on consignment pieces).
