Probably in response to the grand opening of the new Cabelas store a couple miles away. I stopped in there (Cabelas) yesterday evening. They had LOTS of .223/5.56 and most other calibers but the .22LR was picked clean at 6:00 PM.
Didn't know that. What I do know is finding .223/5.56 down here in Illinois has been next to impossible, and when one could find it, purchases were limited to 50 or 100 rds.
So when wife called and said she found a good sale on the way up to the U.P. (dropping our boys off at grandma and grandpa's for 10 days) I had her pick up as much .223 and 9mm as she could carry.
I'm happily well re-supplied now.
