The Paula Deen racism scandal just got reignited thanks to a blockbuster New York Times story Thursday that claims the former Food Network star asked black employees to dress like Aunt Jemima.
The profile of Deen's cook Dora Charles overflows with allegations of racist behavior. Deen allegedly paid black employees less than white ones and used racial slurs.

Deen finally found an African-American employee willing to perform this throwback to plantation life in Charles' friend and colleague Ineata Jones, who the Times reports is nicknamed Jellyroll. The paper says that postcards of Jones ringing a dinner bell are for sale at her stores (pictured left).
Jones drew the line at dressing like Aunt Jemima, the Quaker Oats spokeswoman with origins in minstrel shows.

Whatever, just so we’re not talking about Benghazi, the IRS, or Shaun Donovan’s plan to destroy white middle class suburbs by exporting the inner city underclass to them.
Um, I guess some people are sensitive to dressing like historical characters.
When I was a girl, we visited New Orleans frequently, and black women who worked at some famous praline place in the French Quarter dressed in AuntJemima-type costumes. Those women could not have been more pleasant, charming, delightful. Clearly not bothered or “degraded.”
My family has been here since 1650. I might be asked to wear ugly aprons and boots my greatgreatgreatgreat grammie wore crossing the plains in a wagon. Would I object? Well, for fashion reasons probably. But for historical reasons, I’d be proud.
Why is this not a straight-across analogy? How come you are different if you are black? I don’t think anyone was as downtrodden as some very poor pioneer women who lived in the harshest conditions imaginable, watched their babies die and buried them on the plains never to see even their graves again as the wagon trains rumbled on.

So what?
If blacks are all about “civil rights” and freedom, then why didn’t they balk and bring this to light when they were fist asked to participate.
If the took the gig, and dressed in that garb, then - by actions- they are as “guilty” as Deen of “racism”.

Those Uncle Ben’s and Aunt Jemimah outfits are far better looking than the ass-hangining-out-calf-length ghetto attire of today, with the stupid-ass flat-billed ghetto baseball caps and Aire Jordan’s in day-glo orange!
