MSNBC’s Harris-Perry: Life Begins When Parents Say It Begins, Not Science
Pajamas Media ^ | 07/24/2013 | Bryan Preston

Posted on 07/24/2013 10:13:40 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Leftist bill themselves as science-based in their thinking. It’s a convenient pose they’re willing to scrap when it gets in the way, though, as Melissa Harris-Perry proves. In a segment on — not making this up — the royal baby, Harris-Perry lays out when she believes that life begins.

“When does life begin? I submit the answer depends an awful lot on the feeling of the parents. A powerful feeling – but not science,” Harris-Perry said on her show Sunday. “The problem is that many of our policymakers want to base sweeping laws on those feelings.”

That’s some dangerous thinking, opening the door even further to infanticide. But it’s typical of a political philosophy that rejects facts in favor of feelings. It is odd, though, considering that Harris-Perry is on the record stating that parents do not have any rights over their own children. In Harris-Perry’s world, parents determine when life begins but then have no inherent right to direct how that child is raised. You can birth ‘em, but the state will raise ‘em.

Harris-Perry has her facts regarding new abortion-related laws backwards. The pro-life side is basing new laws regarding both health standards at clinics and the timelines when abortions are allowed on science. Better standards lead to protecting women. Technology has shown that babies in utero feel pain, and has moved the point of viability farther forward with each passing year.

I’m obviously not going to sit here and argue with someone who thinks it’s appropriate to wear tampons as earrings on a network broadcast. Harris-Perry’s mind is made up. Fortunately most Americans are tuning her out and see reason: The country becomes a bit more pro-life as technology and science improve our understanding of how we were all fearfully and wonderfully made.

I have to be honest, Ms. Harris-Perry...I've flushed bowel movements that were better acquainted with the issue than you are. In fact, if there were ever to come a time where we might accurately say that you were using raw sewage for brains, be advised that it would stand as an improvement over what you're doing now. Bless yore little heart, and all that...

Obama's party...Harris-Perry's party was also the one that said people were human beings when their MASTERS said they were human beings...and the CHRISTIANS (a big part of the REPUBLICAN party!) were the ones who led the fight to free these human beings.

DEMOCRATS are the ones who are taking away the liberty and freedom of black Americans by leading them into dependence upon the government plantation.

Where do they get these morons? The LEFT believes you can believe anything you want, but that does not go for “unbelievers”.

Melissa Harris-Perry has recently said that:

So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.

So, her view is apparently that children belong to everyone, not just their parents - unless their parents want to kill them, in which case parents have complete authority.

This is the same type of mentality that can reconcile laws that state a murder of a pregnant woman is really two murders but abortion by that mother is no murder at all. No sense of reason or science whatsoever. Make the reality into whatever suits one at the time.

Ok then. Parental rights rule, I take it. So, no abortion, or morning after pills w/o parental consent? Oh, wait.

Not true. The male “parent” never gets to weigh in on the matter legally. Only one “parent” gets to decide.

You think that isn’t true? Look at it when the “parents” disagree on when life begins and the outcome of that argument. See who wins that argument. Ain’t the guy.

So, I suppose that, when I am in my dotage and one of my daughters is appointed the conservator of my person, she, rather than science, will determine when my life ends.

A new individual life begins at the moment of conception. The fusion of 1/2 of mom’s DNA and 1/2 of dad’s gives you a new, unique individual.

It’s obviously alive from the moment of conception. Science shows that is true. It’s obviously developing as a living entity that is not the same as the mother. It’s obvious. Anyone who denies that has lost all credibility.

Do they mean ‘viable’ outside the womb? That’s not a definition of life.

Bottom line is liberals will say and do anything to give the feminazis their sacrament - abortion.

She probably won’t. Someone from the government, that you do not know most likely, will do that.

Feelings are not a means of cognition or a source of knowledge. Emotions are the physical consequences of value judgments. When life begins is a fact of reality, and is independent of feelings. It is determined by observation and induction and further reasoning from observation.

Did her parents say her life had begun? Can she prove it? According to her, do we need documentation from our parents that our life has begun?

Judging by the testimony at the Gosnell trial, it seems the parents are forgetting to tell the baby.

Actually, Melitha Hawwith-Perry, life begins when Gods says it begins, and what science says or parents say doesn’t matter at all.

Well, the Leftists like to say their gloBULL warming/climate change position is based on science, but of course, it's not. That whole Medieval Warming Period thingy that they like to ignore gets in the way of their agenda. So I guess science is what they say it is.

Careful there - you're skirting very close to the edge of overwhelming logical thinking...
