I’ve driven my share of beaters. One car that I had when I was stationed in Germany lost its reverse gear and I drove it for a couple of months like that. I had another car that the battery went dead and I couldn’t afford to replace it until payday. One day when push starting it in the parking lot in back of my apartment building, when jumping into the drivers seat, I hit the side of my head on the door frame and just about knocked myself out. I was starting to black out as the car was rolling into the street, but managed to shake it off and stayed conscious!

When I drive the SUV with the trailer attached I really don’t have reverse because I cannot, for the life of me, back it up. Makes for some interesting trips. And there are a couple of really nice men out there who have gotten me back in the right direction.
