NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) The temperature isnt the only thing getting hot these days. If youve been outside, you may have noticed tempers are flaring.
As CBS 2s Dr. Max Gomez reported Thursday, the hot weather does a lot to our behavior.

They just make this stuff up as they go.
Yes - making up excuses for people acting badly. Look - hot, cold, rain, shine - bad behavior is a CHOICE one makes.
Wow... I am SOOO impressed - “98 degree streets”. Give me a shout out when you leave 100’s behind and I might start having a little sympathy.
LOL!
heat index is like112/115 here in NYC.
Dr. Max Gomez, PhD btw, I wonder what in?
Of course they need another excuse for bad behavior-if people went into “heat rage” here, I’d be living in a war zone...
Sounds like what I am quite familiar with - hot and miserable... but no excuse for people acting badly.
‘heat rage’ - especially when they get their electric bill....
Wow forgot all about Mr Bill, what show was that on?
Wow, I am truly amazed, global warming not mentioned.
As a volunteer EMT, I will tell you we do see many more cases during a heatwave. It’s not just heat-related illnesses and chronic conditions worsening. People are mentally off and far more prone to accidents even though just about everyone in town is air-conditioned. So, irritability is a form of being mentally off. Lots of people, male and female, PMSing.
I get mighty p.o’d standing in the sun when called to a fender-bender with no injuries, per protocol. I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t have to stand in the sun, on the blacktop. I’m wearing white bermuda shorts and the heck with being out of uniform.
I remember in the late 80’s trying to change a tire on my parent’s car that had failed, in part, due to the extreme temperature (pavement was insanely hot). In jacking up the car (or TRYING to jack up the car), the jack just sank into the hot asphalt like it was made of jello. Had to beat the jack after lowering to get it out of the pavement and get a large board to put under it - otherwise, I couldn’t get the car far enough off the ground to change the tire. I used floor mats to isolate my body from the pavement - and you could smell the rubber/plastic matt backing after a few minutes. Air temp was around 102 with a heat index WAY up there. Absolutely no fun. But I didn’t hit somebody, rape somebody, or carry out some other violent behavior because of it (and yes - I was quite unhappy).
how many people u have within 10 feet of you? Go on a subway? huge difference to hot and hot and crowded.
So now they can blame the fact that they are @$$holes on Global Warming!
Winter puts the lid on riff raff.
When it is 10 degrees outside you don’t see roving gangs of yutes. LOL
This smells like the Superbowl Sunday wife-beating hoax to me.
