My home state of Texas is probably less restrictive than is Florida’s laws. We can use deadly force to defend a perfect stranger from a deadly threat, among other liberties.

Great idea, stay away from Florida, it means it will be easier for us to find a parking place at the shopping centers, no waiting on line at the restaurants, plenty of room at the beach, no boisterous activities and no arrogant obnoxious and rude people from the NE trying to tell us what is good for us. So we got guns, so what? Mostly good law abiding people have them, we don’t go around robbing 7 11s, we don’t pretend to be Dirty Harry, or Paul Kersey either. A large number of us are Veterans, and we are no threat to anyone other than someone who is threatening to harm us. You might say we got each others back when that 911 response is too slow to arrive.

Same as Florida. Also, little chance of SYG changing in Florida. After the “incident”, there was a push by the same group to take away the SYG provisions. Didn’t happen, during the last legislative session the legislature toyed with open carry...didn’t pass, but there’s always hope next year.

Deadly force to protect others is also codefied in Florida law too.

"776.031 Use of force in defense of others.—A person is justified in the use of force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to prevent or terminate the other’s trespass on, or other tortious or criminal interference with, either real property other than a dwelling or personal property, lawfully in his or her possession or in the possession of another who is a member of his or her immediate family or household or of a person whose property he or she has a legal duty to protect. However, the person is justified in the use of deadly force only if he or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony. A person does not have a duty to retreat if the person is in a place where he or she has a right to be."

This is truly a win-win. These are the people we don't want here anyway, and they don't want to be here. Well done!

I would take it one step farther: People who live in Florida but would boycott the state if they lived somewhere else....should leave! win-win-win!!

So the criminal class is going to boycott Florida. What’s the downside?

Michigan

Sec. 2. (1) An individual who has not or is not engaged in the commission of a crime at the time he or she uses deadly force may use deadly force against another individual anywhere he or she has the legal right to be with no duty to retreat if either of the following applies: (a) The individual honestly and reasonably believes that the use of deadly force is necessary to prevent the imminent death of or imminent great bodily harm to himself or herself or to another individual. (b) The individual honestly and reasonably believes that the use of deadly force is necessary to prevent the imminent sexual assault of himself or herself or of another individual. (2) An individual who has not or is not engaged in the commission of a crime at the time he or she uses force other than deadly force may use force other than deadly force against another individual anywhere he or she has the legal right to be with no duty to retreat if he or she honestly and reasonably believes that the use of that force is necessary to defend himself or herself or another individual from the imminent unlawful use of force by another individual.

Seems to me that its time to challenge Moveon to put up or shut up.

In Indiana, we can even Stand Our Ground against a cop that illegally busts through the door

MSM Idiots ... Florida is safer for tourists due to so many residents carrying.

In fact, there might be more non-residents with carry permit issues from Florida than residents!
Those non-resident permit holders will most certainly visit and vacation in Florida even more now.

Wonder has also called for fans to support his boycott.

I disagree with Wonder and in retaliation, I am sending him back the eight track tapes that I have of his music.
It has been that long since he has been relevant.
