An unidentified man was hospitalized with a massive head injury Friday following an apparent bias-fueled attack in the West Village, witnesses and officials said. Witnesses on Greenwich Ave. near W. 12th St. said the white man — who cops said is in his 30s — was belting back beers outside Benny’s Burritos about 5:30 p.m. when he began mouthing off to a black customer in the outdoor seating area.
“You n-----s are why I lost my job,” witnesses overheard the man say.
Outraged, the black man punched the bigoted boozer, sending him reeling backward onto the rain-slick sidewalk.
The man’s head cracked open on the concrete, said one witness who did not want to be named.

It is sad that you could not distinguish between punching a guy once in the nose for insulting your wife, and beheading someone for insulting your religion.

On the other hand, it would be really funny to take everybody in this thread who abhors violence in all forms, and sit them down one at a time with their wife or girlfriend at a dinner table, have some drunk black guy stumble into them, knocking over their food, and then when they help the guy have the black guy yell at them “this crazy *ss cracker wants to fight me”.
I imagine those not sh*tting their pants would be reaching for their concealed weapon. But maybe I’m wrong, and they would just stand up and call the guy names.

I was taught not to run my mouth and pick fights. I was also taught not to back down. That doesn't mean to swing at some BS or minor ribbing, but some things good people just don't do or say.
If I was an angry drunk, I wouldn't drink. If situation is about to be heated outside of my control, time to get out of dodge before it hits the fan.
Some people forget common sense.
I also saw that on display all the time up in North Michigan growing up. Bar fights happen, usually when some citiot got drunk and ran his mouth. It usually ends in a lesson with a whooping, but no permanent damage.
But here a guy got drunk, ran his mouth, got punched and might end up permanently impaired or dead.
Some think thats ok, he had it coming.
I'm not arguing that it doesn't happen, I am saying that I don't think there's ever a good reason to sucker punch a sloppy drunk into a coma. Its that simple.
How do you like this: This goes on all the time. The drunks drive you crazy. This could have been me which is why I quit....
ha ha ha, yeah. and the cops would take about an hour to get there. Unless on the call you tell them don’t worry I shot him, like one guy did when thugs were robbing his next door neighbor and the cops hadn’t arrived for 25 minutes.

Only a fool argues with a drunk. The assailant is more than a fool. Hopefully, charges are brought against him. It’s the only way some learn. And it will take the chip off of his shoulder and stop from being so damn sensitive - the wuss that he is!
