Don’t know for sure; I could make a devil’s advocate case for leaving it in (and the judge not showing bias in doing so).
I will opine this much: there are *many* more fertile fields for MOM to plow than the manslaughter inclusion, should an appeal be required.
I think it's too early for that. They may feel obligated as a jury to atleast do a gratuitious run through all the evidence -- and that takes time.
They can't afford to reach a decision that appears to the public to be not well thought out especially in this charged environment.

It appears to me she has gotten as big as a cow so I doubt any man would bother. I'm sorry, some people are large, but add fat to this ditsy, stupid woman who disgusts me, and she is that much worse. I don't know why that station keeps her.
I have watched her every night, mainly to invisibly support the one man friend of Z’s on there. I don't know how he doesn't stand up and walk off from wherever he is and not go back. He has the patience of Job. I know he needs to be there so there will be one voice supporting Z, but she treats him like total crap.
