Judge Jeanine said they would not be on manslaughter unless they chalked Murder 2nd degree. They want instructions on manslaughter.
Jury instructions explicitly said that sentencing is none of the jury's business, so judge probably will not say.

I think the verdict could be guilty on a false charge of manslaughter; for if this jury is the face of America, it is indeed a lost country. I doubt one or two will hold out for a hung jury that much longer.

Answer to the jury. An absence of ‘culpable negligence’, and a not guilty for Man 2, no conviction of manslaughter.
Manslaughter could be 10-30 years with no early parole.

Sorry you’re wrong. It isn’t exactly the same defense. How can it be manslaughter if you’re found not guilty of murder by self defense? I’d want to try the case and hammer home anything related to manslaughter too. But it wasn’t on the table. Second, my point applies especially as they were an inch from charging him with child abuse.
This is a dishonest practice. The state should put all charges on the table first.
It only shows at least one is. The others could be trying to convince them otherwise.
