Bay Area television station KTVU incorrectly reported the names of the pilots flying the ill-fated Asiana Airlines Flight 214 using racially insensitive monikers.
The segment on Friday at noon that referred to two of the pilots as "Captain Sum Ting Wong," and "Wi Tu Lo," has gone viral and drawn heavy criticism on the Internet.

I laughed till I cried..then sent it to everyone I know. Love it when the media is made to look like fools.
I hope the Koreans don’t riot too.
Oh, .... they’re too civilized to do that.
Why apologize for the names? After all, they didn’t know what they were doing.
What they SHOULD apologize for is the fact that the sum IQ of most MSM broadcast stations is right down there with the typical “Education” or “Social Studies” faculty.
For libs, I’ll make it simple, “You, and your MSM compatriots are not exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer.
After all the crap this week I have tears of laughter streaming down my face. A fine ending.
How were the names racist?
That’s because SF is so moronic that the most intelligent person living there has the IQ of a newt.
This was a Howard Stern staffer or fan pranking the station and their end of the conversation will be there early next week.
Personally, I think it is hilarious, except for the loss of life, one of which was reportedly snuffed out by an emergency vehicle.

Media types are always falling for stuff like this. I remember during the many fires we have had here in LA you would have Howard Stern’s people calling local networks pretending to be from the fire department but you could easily tell it was a skit and he would say “And a Baa Baa Booey to you all”
“drawn heavy criticism on the Internet”
Sorry, but I don’t worship at the Church of Diversity and Ethnic Sensitivity.
I think the names were hilarious.
I agree..I just watched the video and laughed my ass off..who says journalism is dead LOL
I hate that, even on Twitchy, there has to be a debate about whether or not we’re ‘allowed’ to laugh at those. Ugh.
This is perhaps the greatest punking ever perpetrated by the Mind of Man; it is quadruple, it is in chronological order, and it tells the story. Nonetheless, I could not send the link to my friends because of the deaths and serious injuries involved.
This same station had been punk’d before: search on “punk’d Altamont fire and Mr. Litoris”. All video of this on the Interscope has apparently been expunged.
I’m an American of Chinese descent and I think it is HUE FOOK NG funny!
Some video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqjlhtKIToo
I was referring to the earlier Altamont fire, where a Mr. Mike Litoris was interviewed.
This is the email I received:
Asiana Crew names, just released:
Captain: Sum Ting Wong
Captain: Wi Tu Lo
F/O: Ho Lee Fuk
F/O: Nau We Phukd
The fake names were in the Chinese style, not Korean.
