The decision for either guilty or acquittal has to be unanimous.
I think that they will argue that because he was a neighborhood watch captain that he was operating under color of law.
Nope. First, it is not an official capacity. Second, he was “off duty” at the time.
He will be taken directly to jail, where he will be promptly “shanked for Trayvon”.
Maybe if he had the little car with the little yellow flashing lights and the uniform and ID....
There are little things. I live in an apartment complex where the number of Hispanics and Blacks was about even two weeks ago. As of yesterday, none of the Hispanics can to be seen. They spent the last two weeks hurriedly packing, with furtive answers (usually friendly people) about what was up. I could feel the fear.
There has been a lot of “Justice for Trayvon” talk on local Twitter and Facebook accounts I can see as friends of friends. It feels different to me because Memphis usually is the last place to go up in flames in recent years.
I hope I am simply being paranoid.
Any verdict must be unanimous in a criminal case
Neither are true, but SCOTUS has never allowed less than 100% vote for conviction in 6 juror jurisdictions.
wow, can i borrow that?
:-)
I'd not worry too much about this. Several hundred FReepers have said the same thing, in one way or another, in just the past few days.
If there's a lack of credible info, reporters gotta find *something* to talk about.
Thugs 4 Trayvon arrive at courthouse:

They must have met bail this morning.
ANY verdict must be unanimous. No verdict is a split decision and mistrial.
How far from the Courthouse to where the big screen tv s are.
You are right it is true in Florida, but SCOTUS has allowed less than 100% convictions in other states.
“Verdict coming today...Per WFTV”
And how would they know? Psychic Network?
That applies to Category Two lesser-included offenses not to Category One. See the links I posted at 2308 to the FL Supreme Court.
Cat1 is included unless the prosecution asks for it to be excluded. Cat2 is not included unless the prosecution asks and the judge permits it.
I thought Miss Cleo had been shut down...
sick to my stomach. dau ghter from oviedo texted me and said she thinks he is guilty but she thinks he will walk. she also voted for O the firat electio.
well 3 out of my 4 kids think differently.
What does that say:
“If you white & wanna get away with murder, come to Fla.”
Someone needs to ask them who paid them to be there and how much.
I’ll never understand why they did that. How many of them ‘related’ to the judge. All women jury and the judge is a woman - so much for a representation of his peers.
“if problem with juror”
what kind of problem? Like disagreement?
