A much better day today, thanks! The commutes were tough though. In the a.m. I avoided disaster by switching to an alternate route on the fly - a guy at the same intersection was not so lucky - clipped another car trying to get out of the backup. In the evening I was making my way out Rock Creek Parkway and I noticed the backup to get onto Beach Drive was much longer than usual - like a mile or so. Again I switched off to Connecticut Avenue and made my way onto Beach about a mile further up the creek - no traffic at that point at all. There must have been a real big one around the Zoo.
The heat has broken for a couple of days - we were in the 80's today - still muggy but not so bad. The heat is supposed to return Monday.
