Vice President Joe Biden delivers remarks at a memorial service for 19 "Hot Shot" firefighters killed battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire in Prescott, Arizona. The memorial takes place at the Tim's Toyota Center Arena in Prescott Valley.
This is so much more than just a memorial service - it's honoring 19 young men who lived their dream of serving their fellow citizens. They are mostly in their 20's with about a dozen fatherless children under the age of six. Several wives are expecting children within the next several months.
The 6,000 seats inside the arena are filled with family, invited friends and firefighters from Arizona, other states and other countries.

Channel 3 may be the best way to view - I expect AzCentral to be overwhelmed. There may be other links showing it live, also.
Channel 3 has interviewed fire fighters from Canada and LA. Some are coming from Australia.
Dozens of TV satellite trucks there also. Major cable channels may stream some of it live. If so, please add links.

Better him than the Anointed One as it’s always about him.
These men who died were almost to a man church-going men of God and speakers are recognizing that - Thanking God for their presence and celebrating their lives and knowing they are with our Father.
Whole-heartedly agree, but having Biden there is almost disrespectful. I hope he keeps it solumn and resists his usual compulsion to “lighten” the proceedings.
God bless those who gave all.
The Hot Shots Prayer: Recited by (surviving) Hot Shot Crew Member Brendan McDonough
(This young man served as a high point lookout and gave warming and barely escaped from his position before it was overwhelmed by flames. Expect long and lengthy applause for him - it is intended that he be loved and supported going forward without his brothers.)

Governor Brewer makes note of the help the community has given to both the families and to those who come to mourn and celebrate their lives. Prescott families opened up their homes to members of out-of-town departments.
Slow Joe.....
Oh never mind. I’ll be nice.
Watching it live I think — is anyone listening to Biden make this whole damn thing about himself?
You’re watching live.
joe isn’t too bad, but it would have been touching for him to have learned something personal about each one of these guys instead of phoning it in with “i knew them”....
OK doing a 180 on Joe....very well done.
