>> I liked how this witness said there could be othr injuries on GZs head which do not show.
They did a great job of shining light on the injuries Z already got. I’d like to see them tie it in more securely to the injuries that Z FEARED he MIGHT get.
Self defense doctrine in Florida stipulates fear of “great bodily injury” before the use of “deadly force” (gun) is OK.
DiMaio gave O’Mara and West all the ammo they needed, IMO, with the great discussion of head injuries, particularly closed head injury. Now MOM/DW need to indelibly write the link in the minds of the jurors.
just my 2c
I moved into a new house and was upstairs in a bathroom putting in new shelf paper, etc., and somehow hit my forehead on a shelf. To use the term this fellow did, I was stunned. I saw in the mirror there was blood on my forehead. I didn't feel normal. Got in the car and drove to a near-by doctor's office and I didn't know any doctors there. I went up to the counter and told the woman I hit my head and couldn't tell how deep it was.
I turned and sat down and figured I would have to wait. In seconds, a nurse got me to the back for the doctor to deal with my head. I didn't have blood running all over my body or anything, but I must have not looked/acted right when I talked to the one at the counter. I still did not feel right.
The doc used butterfly strips to seal the wound so I wouldn't have stitches there and said if it bothered me after healing, I could go to a plastic surgeon to remove the scar. I didn't go back to working on the house when I got back home. I just rested. That's the only time I remember hitting my head and I definitely wasn't quite right immediately after that.
If someone had been beating my head against concrete, it would have to be worse than how I felt.
