I am guessing that Federal charges for “denial of civil rights” will be difficult.
I was once SUED by George Tiller for “denial of civil rights” of others.
The Supreme Court ruled in a related case that private individuals do not have the ability to violate civil rights of others, Only a government official can deny or violate rights under our Constitution.
Where rights are concerned, they must be “violated under color of law”.
I do not think that George Zimmerman, as Neighborhood Watch volunteer, qualifies as a government official.
thanks for that explanation
Ok I got you on that.. But lets say it did work, what civil liberties woul yet say he violated? And how long does a sentence like that carry?? Or is it just a money thing??
