I don't think so. I've been opening doors for women for almost 50 years, and haven't heard a complaint yet.
Don't always get a thank you either, and for those women who take it as their inherent right I'm always tempted to let the door hit them in the butt. But I don't.
It’s in Australia too - it is really western culture going down the toilet - Worst thing of all is the shame and second guessing of our cultural heritage - we did what we did - some things were maybe not right by today’s standards but I refuse to apologize for my history. Who says today’s standards are goo anyway in 100 years they will be saying we murdered loving pedophiles!!!
Consider yourself fortunate. I’ve been told on more than one occasion that my holding a door was denigrating to women.
Child beauty pageants are disgusting, nothing but fuel for pedos.
And those built up with self esteem little darlings are pathetically devoid of any.
“When did we move all the way from pitying victims and showing them a little kindness to treating victimhood as some sort of exalted status?”
Easy. The 1970’s. It was a 180 degree change that came almost over night. No on cared about it or even seemed to know what I was talking about when I pointed it out.
I am offended that they are offended.
I’ve had a woman complain before.
Number (whatever we’re up to + 1): Intellectual laziness. Someone on TV could say: “It’s wrong to be judgmental” or “I hate intolerant people” and the others on the show would applaud rather than point out the contradiction.
Excellent list compiled by John Hawkins.
Ignorant people believing they’re qualified to assume worst case scenarios and are later disappointed to learn the truth.
1. Males with womanish looking long hair. They look like some of the women the East Germans once sent to the Olympics.
2. The tough guy uniform: black tee shirt, Levis, burr hair cut with a week's beard growth. What's he dressing up for? A cruise of the leather bars?
3. Tattoos. The equivalent of graffiti on a building but harder to remove and more expensive.
They aren’t feminist then. I sure would not complain and I am a woman
Re #9 Did you ever watch these idiots walking who have their pants almost hanging down to their knees? You would think they have a load in them
Nice rant.
I agree. I call this the infantilization of America.
It is happening everywhere. For example, there was no such thing as a "Gourmet Cupcake" until 2005. Prior to that, cupcakes existed as a confection for very young children to eat with their hands. Older children and adults ate with a fork.
Starbucks coffee cups and lids look indistinguishable from "sippy cups" we give to toddlers.
It will only get worse with the Millennials, who grew up on chicken nuggets and pizza rolls. I can't wait to see the gourmet chicken nuggets on the menu of five-star restaurants. I do think I can start a charm school to teach millennials in sales how to eat with a knife and fork so they don't look like a rube at a business dinner with a 60-year old executive.
