...Now that the prosecution's case against Zimmerman is in, as a legal matter, I just don't see how a jury convicts him of second degree murder or even manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
So what happened? How can an armed man who shot and killed an unarmed teen after being told by the police that he didn't need to keep following him, likely be found not guilty of those crimes?
I certainly sympathize with the anger and frustration of the Martin family and doubt that a jury will accept the entirety of George Zimmerman's account as credible. But based on the legal standard and evidence presented by prosecutors it is difficult to see how jurors find proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn't self defense.
Prosecutors are at a distinct legal disadvantage.

The sound recording difference is amazing. Crump should get disciplined for providing an obviously inferior quality tape.
Crumpty Dumpty should be disbarred.
In the video of Travon in the convenience store, the video showed the hoodie with some kind of button or emblem on it, on Travon’s left side. Where is that?
Hahahahaha!!!
I think the issue was that he provided, as a legal deposition, an edited version that left out his coaching.
What I find interesting is that she was really no harder to understand on the inferior quality tape than she was in the courtroom.
AND, she did tell much the same story.
The Judge probably wouldn't allow it as evidence.
she did use a lot of “likes” in her sentences.
Thank you.
Dan Abrams does not even have the cojones to admit that he was wrong and that there never was any evidence against Zimmerman. Instead he implies that he will be found not guilty because of the technicalities of the law.
No, the west side - he lived on 14th & 6th, I lived around the corner. Used to see him in the neighborhood all the time.
Florida law allows for a jury of less than 12 in a non capital case...

I honestly do not understand why they would make a choice to go with that pic and caption! It’s infuriating! I just sent another note and did not hold back this time.
Whoever made the decision should never be given license to do anything so damn irresponsible again.
Could work both ways - another mother could have lost her son if he hadn't defended himself.
“If Zimmerman had set out from the beginning to shoot Martin (or cause him any harm), then he sure as hell wouldnt have called the police first.”
Great point!
I still can’t get past the fact in the call when Zimmerman say’s, “We need police out here.”
If his intent had been ill will he wouldn’t have called police in the first place. He would have shot first then called.
In evidence. The prosecution had Sybrina Fulton identify it as a button Martin always wore.
I just learned the jury was all female. I guess I was assuming it was 12 jurors and the “six women” I kept hearing wasn’t referring to the whole jury. Holy crap this is bad news for GZ.
Zimmerman is screwed. They might not convict him of murder, but they darn sure aren’t going to let him walk free. Trayvon is getting a sympathy verdict and Zimmerman is getting convicted of manslaughter.
I’m actually kind of sad now. Writing’s on the wall, he’s doomed without a man in the jury room.
