Ms. Cheneys ambitions reflect a greater tension within the Republican Party as a younger generation feels less reluctance to challenge incumbents in the party, especially if they are seen as too consensus-minded or insufficiently conservative.

What has startled some people here is not just the fact that Ms. Cheney is seemingly trying to nudge Mr. Enzi into retirement, but that she appears to be doing so with a hand from her father.

Ms. Cheneys broader line of attack on Mr. Enzi, though, may be that he is too willing to work with Democrats and not vocal enough in pushing conservative causes. Ms. Cheney, a State Department official in the administration of President George W. Bush, is a pugnacious partisan and has called President Obama the most radical man ever to occupy the Oval Office.

And they constantly obtain anecdotes from two or three people and act like they've proven some point beyond any doubt, whatever point they wanted to make in the first place. (The people of Wyoming don't want Liz Cheney to run.)
Translation: “In Wyoming, a Cheney Run Worries the New York Times”
If the ny slimes tells you to go South... you had better go North... if they tell you to look up... look down. If they tell you what is good for the republican party or they bash someone or build someone up... reason the opposite. As long as Cheney is pro GOD, pro Border Security/Anti Amnesty and pro Gun... she will be fine... if she is not... then shun her and find another candidate.

Seems to me she tells it like it is ..... she'd have my vote if I lived in Wyoming.
i really like her and her father, and her mother... sharp, smart, quick-whitted people... well-read.. rare these days, especially in politics...
That is one ugly, airheaded, inbred rat party royal.

I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Liz Cheney over time. She can belt out the sound-bytes with the best of them. Her takes on some things are brilliant. For instance her admonition that the Republicans shouldn’t be content to be a watered down version of the Democrat party hit’s the bull’s-eye.
What I do find less enchanting about her, is her lack of addressing an issue that has the potential to sink our nation. It’s actually my number one concern right now. It’s “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”. I have tried to find Cheney’s views on this topic, and frankly..., they’re not to be found. If someone can link me to some great comments by her in objection to CIR, I’ll be happy to review them and accept that I simply missed them.
Folks, anyone who wants to run for office these days needs to come clean on the important issues. We can’t act as we have in the past, jumping on the skirts of women we really really like, who haven’t addressed in the proper acceptable way the main issues of importance. Ambiguity? That ship has sailed. You want my support? I want the details. I want to read the fine print.
Reciting old rock solid comments of Ronald Reagan is very nice. Extrapolating on their meaning is even better, but if you don’t touch on issues that threaten to destroy our Republic and in a way that lets us know you have a plan to object to nonsense, and get this issue fixed, then you don’t deserve a true Conservative’s vote.
I, for one, will never again vote for someone who gives the great vague sound-byte. Quote Reagan every moment for the next ten years. I’ll be glad to clap. If you can’t recognize a threat to our nation and voice your plan to fix it, I won’t even consider you for a vote.
Our nation needs leaders, not cheer-leaders.
Liz, the road ahead is very clear. What you need to do is self-evident. You have the potential to be a masterful contributor to our nation. The question is, will you make the choice to do it?
Here’s my vote. Do you want it?
BTW: Extricate yourself from Bill Krystal. That guy is an anchor around Conservatism’s neck.
I’m positive this is a good thing, especially if it’s being reported the way it is from the NYT. I think t=she is very sharp.
Me too. I’d love to have them as a neighbor...even sharing a backyard barbecue. Can you imagine the conversations? They come across (to me) as good, regular folks.
Any Wyoming FR reading this? What’s the scoop on Liz and the present senator, conservative, for small government, etc.?
I like Liz Cheney. No wonder the GOPe hates her. Now I love her even more.
There is a well-studied and brave confidence about Ms (and future Congresswoman) Cheney.
The lefties fear her (and this includes Rubio, Ryan and the other RINOS).
.
Voops! My error!
Future SENATOR Cheney.
If the NY Times is against her then I’m for her.
Daughter of Darth Cheney. Moo Ha Ha!!
I would support Liz Cheney for ANY office.
I would prefer none of them run for power.
see daughters see weird book written long ago by mz cheney
I like Liz. I hope she takes the old guy out.
It is correctly a States Rights issue.
And you know Wyoming does want Liz to run, by what means?
